On the quest where you have to invade Vranik “The die is cast” after showing your die and getting into the encampment, go all the way to where you have meet Erik but don’t go in yet turn around to the ruined house and go in, turn left around the Bush is an unlocked chest with a few items in it like free lockpicks 
put all of your items in it except something you don’t mind losing for a little bit just so you can spar with Vanyek. After that go back and meet Erik… you should know what to do next.
