Quartered Combat Jacket in Hardcore? (Spoilers)

Treasure Map XXIII is what leads you to the Quartered Combat Jacket, and it has been part of the loot in all games I’ve played expect now… In hardcore mode…

Not sure if it’s a bug or the item has been removed, or put in another treasure map but in Hardcore mode the Quartered Combat Jacket isn’t there anymore, but all the other loot is.

I can confirm that it’s not there for me either (on hardcore). I was going all that way for it specifically. :frowning: To make matters even more ironic, almost immediately after when I travelled from Neuhof to Uzhitz, I bumped into a trader wearing it! It was the longest “should I, shouldn’t I” moment I’ve ever had, but in the end, I decided to let the innocent man live. (In other words, hearing “Hey, Henry’s come to see us!” as I was sneaking behind the trader freaked me out…)

I honestly don’t know of any other place to get it other than killing an innocent traveler along the road…

I would like to hear from WH if this is a bug or maybe they moved it to another treasure map.

I’ll let you know. I still have a few more treasures to find on hardcore, but it shouldn’t take long.
Just a thought: Do you remember how the picture from the upcoming Tournament feature includes a man in a black version of the noble hat? It could mean that there are more clothes coming in the future (hopefully obtainable legally). If not, that lost merchant doesn’t need to be killed - just knocked out from behind. He literally won’t know what hit him. I’m now determined to rid him of his clothes the next time I see him. That’s greed for you…

The earliest place I remember getting the quartered combat jacket was in Talmberg castle. Right below Lady Stephany’s quarters is an administrator who wears one. You can steal it from his chest while he sleeps.

Hmmm interesting will definitely look into that!

It is a bit annoying when some garments are only available by knocking out someone. I always try to grab that brown noble cotehardie from a specific NPC in talmberg during the prologue. No other way to get it except to knock out a few NPC carrying it.

Same with the green cotehardie from Rattay’s executioner.

Do tell me more about the brown one. Which NPC?

The guy with a red hat in the courtyard. Usually carrying some bags or hanging out next to the courtyard lodge. You can steal it during the night when he goes to sleep. It will,be in the trunk in the room inside the lodge.

Found a wayfarer dressed the same between inn at the glade and talmberg.

This is great news. I think I’ll go clothes “shopping” in Talmberg soon. Finding things in trunks involves a lot less guilt than finding them on unconscious people.

It’s a part of hardcore mode. Items that can be found only in treasures are still there but other valuables are mostly gone from treasures. And Aachen dyed brigandine can be bought or found elsewhere… keep looking:)

Just started a Hardcore campaign. I went through the entire-map, went to all the graves/chests/hunting-spots/graves and interesting points which took me several days.

I decided to do a inventory check after to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Several items were missing, the Quartered Combat Jacket & Dark Milanese Brigandine. Also items had disappeared from my inventory such as Bianca’s ring.

As you can imagine… I’m not very happy since I’m very much a completionist and now I’m wondering if I have to re-do the entire past few days. Do note however, I decided to start a new Hardcore mode to check if certain items were removed from the game in Hardcore mode. Upon checking the Treasure Chests the Dark Milanese Brigandine was in the game. So I can conclude this is some sort of bug.

I still have Bianca’s ring in both my hardcore playlines, so it sounds like a bug. For me, the only thing I noticed was missing from the chests was the Quartered Combat Jacket, but there may have been more - I usually don’t notice the things that I know can be bought. I was happy to find out that the Noble Sword is still where it should be, for that is my weapon of choice.

It appears a lot of the hardcore treasure chest are missing certain gear, mostly armor.
