Yesterday I did the quest „Dead Men Tell No Tales ” and since I had no clue how to find what happend to the blacksmith’s son I came back to tell him that I had found nothing. I knew that I messed up because it could not have been the best way to finish this quest but honestly I had no clue where to look for hints. Before the tourney I talked to everyone including Black Peter himself and believed that something would happen after the tourney, for example I will be approched by Black Peter himself but it did not happen. Today I searched yt videos and forum to find out that some people had kind of bug and BP would not appear where he should have or there should have been manual travel chosen instead of rapid travel in order to trigger the ambush by BP. If it was not a bug I have the following observations:
- In case no npc has any clues or hints for the player, Henry could at least make the aloud comments himself like in case when hes’ hungry prompting the player that he should eat something. For example, after the tourney he should have said something like „strange what xxx said, I suppose I will go to Peschek maybe he knows something” / „I will go to XXX to ask where BP lives, I will search his house” etc. Just anything that helps player to carry on the investigation or got to the right place in right time.
- Should the game desingers not like the solutions in point 1. they should at least give the player the possibility to finish the quest ina a satisfactory way, because the player does not know what way to choose to get ambushed, what time its’ the best or whether he should fast travel or travel manually
If during the fast travel I get ambushed so many times by simple bandits so why Black Peter couldnt do the same ?
- And the most important. PLAYER DOES NEVER LIKE COME EMPTY HANDED. I am not talking about exp but about fun and satisfaction that we accomplished something. So instead of telling the blacksimth that we found out nothing we should be allowed to have a chance to a. start another fun quest that can be started only by closing the previous in an unsatisfactory way b. get the dialogue option which enables him to continue the investigation c. trigger some event which would not be possible if we had been ambushed by BP etc. The story must continue. The fun must continue. Otherwise it’s enormous disappointment with a quest that seemed so much fun at the beginning. I am not sure If I expressed myself clearly, but I belive there cannot be quests finishing in such a stupid way. Each quest finished this way should open a door for another adventure. It’s a game. Not a real life. Game should be fun.
Finally I just would like you to know that I really love this game – one of the best I have played and minor bugs or problems like the above described cannot change my mind. Anyway I think that this comment might be maybe useful for you in future.
