I am trying to complete the quest Lost In Translation. I chose the route of having the cuman take me to his treasure, which of course led to an ambush (saw that coming). I killed the armed guys at the camp, and the cuman ran off, and now it says to capture the cuman.
Well there is no quest marker what so ever, to tell you where to go, but I noticed on the map, smoke in the trees, and figured I would try going there. There is a camp with 3 cuman. Every time I enter the camp, the quest fails.
One cuman is in all red, and he tends to run away, so I thought he might be the one I am after. I tried leaving him alive, and he ran, I was right behind him, about to hit him, and the quest failed. This has happened several times now.
I even tried stealth. I waited for one of them to walk down the trail, and got behind him and knocked him out. I had to carry him away a bit, as one of the others was coming down the path as well. I carried him maybe 6 yards, set him down, killed him, looted him, and started to head back to the camp to get one of the others, and again, the quest failed. That time the other 2 had not even been alerted to my presence at all, so how did I fail?
I have been trying every which way, to complete this quest. I have been at it for hours at this point. Where the heck is the correct cuman? How in the heck am I suppose to get him?
This quest is just maddening. I wish I had chosen to take him to Rattay, apparently that is the easy route and the one way that works. Thanks to not being able to save, I couldn’t save right before I made the decision, and just change my choice lol. I am basically screwed now on this quest, so what do I do lol.
I paid 50 coins to the miller for the cuman, and I can’t interact with him in any way. Googling around, it seems more people have the same issue. Apparently, some say that you can punch him, have him surrender and then you get the option to take him to Rattay, but that doesn’t work for me. I guess he’ll stay there until a patch fixes him.
Yeah, punching him does no good, he surrenders, but then while you are killing the other 2, he just gets up and runs again. While you are trying to get him to surrender, the other 2 are beating the crap out of you and you are lucky if you survive anyway. Even if you survive all that, and tackle him when he runs, it will just say he got away and you will fail anyway.
I finally gave up, and loaded a save from before I accepted the quest, lost a ton of gameplay time, and just retook the quest, and took him straight to Rattay. I didn’t even bother with trying to get the stuff he had stashed or anything. At that point I just didn’t care. I had been trying to finish the quest for about 6 hours at that point, and I just wanted it over with.
If they ever fix the game, I will play through the game again, and see if it works then.
Don’t follow the cuman he leads you to a trap and talk to the translator he knows the where the treasure’s location and it’s in a hollowed out trunk on a hill overlooking rattay.
