Just make sure you don’t mess up AT ALL. it will fail the quest for you.
After you think you have gotten every weed and no flowers, go save your game at the Inn before you go back to Tell Nicodemus you’re finished.
thats just it loading a save will corrupt progress. if you want to retry load and leave the area then come back, all plants appear as regrown then pluck all weeds and speak to nicodemus first try .
This is so anoying. Been picking weeds for over an hour now and still fails… is it okay to put an arrow to his head once im done or do you need him in any other quest?
I can confirm this. On my first atempts, i cleared all three plots for the mentioned weeds. But after i read this and cleared only the two first, i got the quest completed.

To add to this, avoid picking any weeds near the edge of the middle and top section because you can automatically pick wrong weeds because of the herb picking radius. pick nettles/dandelions 1 or 2 steps away from the edge instead.
Also choose the second option when asked if you picked anything you shouldn’t. When I choose the first answer the result was “good but not great” but when I choose the second answer I got the “great” result (tho I reloaded before I picked the weeds so I might have made a little mistake).

I picked all the weeds on that side and against the wall. Had no problem the first time. The second time I accidentally picked all his mint.

This quest is buuged for me too D:
Tried several times, still says i didnt do it and it instantly fails the quest.
Same problem for me. I even weeded any thistle, nettle or dandelions that were outside of the garden (probably a good 30 feet in every direction outside of the garden beds). But he inspects the garden and says I failed…what the absolute fuck?

It worked perfectly when I first did the quest, second day after launch. Now that I have started over, it is bugged. I weeded the whole area and beyond, and quest wont update. The first time around, once I got the weeds, it did update and said completed and to go talk to him. Now it is broken and won’t update. This is the 3rd quest i have had issues with that worked fine before I restarted.
use this radius 100 I have solved that!
I’ve actually just got done doing this quest. I read a walkthrough online and it mentioned you must pull every weed out even weeds that are no directly in the garden area. Like all the weeds by that tree as well. I even resorted in pulling the weeds from behind that large fence. I passed the quest. I’m on PS4 btw.
jFYI: The weeds do respawn! Don’t know how long it takes but i was able to finish the quest some days after completely harvested the whole field
How are u getting the mods to work? I’ve followed the instructions like the savior schnapps one where u put it in the data folder. Still doesn’t work.
In the beginning when I’m given 3 by Henrys barmaid girlfriend I save and a schnapps is consumed so when I look I than have 2 left.
When I try to save without them the save option is greyed out. So I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
Same for the affore mentioned gathering mod. None of them work.
If the mod doesn’t load, then you must be doing something wrong. Not sure what you did so I will tell what I did instead.
When you downloaded a .zip file from modder, unzip it to obtain a .pak file. Put the pak file in the data folder where other .pak files lay. They should be with names like zzz_…pak at the bottom of the folder. Game must be restarted to take effect. For unlimited save mod, you must at least have on schnapps in inventory.
I did this quest maybe a weak ago, there was no problem!
Pick the quest from Nico, go to his garden and gather all of thistle, dandelion and nettle. Pick all those weeds up to the tree (there is a tree behind the garden), check again maybe you missed to pick some, its easy to miss! If you done you wont get quest update, go and see Nico! Tell him you finished… He will go and see what have you done. After he finished, talk to him. If you do it well, he will say “good work” or something like that. Quest complete.

I’ve done this exact thing you’re describing. About installing them even started a fresh game.
In my case, the game has never told me that I’m done with these weeds (so don’t wait wait when some message appears, like “you’ve done, go back to the nicodim”) , but when I talked with Nicodim he told me that everything is ok, gave me the reward and the quest became completed
One of the quests i failed - even with 2 tries 
not sure what was wrong with my weeding style
Finally completed this after 6 failed attempts. Made sure to only get the thistle dandelions and nettle, by the mint and eyebright. Picking them in the third area of herbs results in a failure. Also, you seem to be unable to pick any of mint or eyebright. Only picking one on accident failed me every time. Nicodim told me i was a perfect herbalist, quest completed. Also did this after 1.3.1, that may have something do with it as well.
