Question about game timescale

Hello from Bohemian kingdom,
Just bought beta and wow, as Mount & Blade fan I really love this. First person immersion with full body awareness is great. One think I am bit worried it seems like game uses faster timescale than realtime so time flows faster like in Skyrim. Would be possible to at least make option to time flow in realtime (timescale 1x)? It’s always first mod I looking for for any time accelerated RPG as I hate to be in hurry. I like to take my time thru whole game day in realtime.

I’m surprised you’re a fan of it. World of Warcraft has a realistic timescale and I got sick of it. I could only play on the same hours every day, so i never got to see day time.

As long as its an option I don’t see why not.

Yeah I like it very much That’s why I asking for option to make both camps happy

This is a single player game with a story. You need to rest “some” hours per day (and night time is pretty dark, so mostly not suitable for activity). When healing you need to rest longer (but still really fast compared to reality).

Time passes in game exceptionally fast - you can see the shadows moving clearly, but this is okay mostly. When it gets objectionable is when a mid-afternoon conversation ends with you in the pitch black, with no idea where the nearest bed may be, or where you can (still) buy foodstuff to avoid death by starvation or poisoning by risking that apple you’ve had in your saddlebag for a few days.

I’d welcome slowing time down, if not overall to 1:1 then at least so that time passing in dialogue is at 1:1 and time in mini-games occupies some ‘reasonable’ world time without being too long. In world times could be kept as real-time or allowed to pass slightly faster - there are gameplay advantages to slightly increasing the rate, but the current pace seems much too fast.

Eventually it should be moddable, if it isn’t reconfigured before hand (I use a mod that passes time 1:1 in the witcher 3 and it improves my experience significantly - I can choose what time of day to wait until, then spend ‘an hour’ “around lunchtime”, or “at midnight” getting things done… rather than finding that by the time I’ve crossed the room half an hour has passed (I exaggerate, but only slightly).

I can say, i’m working on it too
I have reduced the speed of the shadows.
Vanilla setting was 10 seconds and now my is somewhere around 1 minute.
But this makes only sense if you can change the timescale.
Found some hints but i was not able to set minus variables yet.

I agree the time runs too fast, would like at least twice as long to do things in the daytime

I think there are some flaws with time and daylight and they were mentioned in other threads:

  • Game is situated near summer solstice and realistic daylight (for central european daylight saving time) is like sun from 4:50am to 9:10pm, and 2x50 minutes of twilight. Actually it’s not completely dark at 10pm and 10:20-10:50pm is optimal time for observing noctilucent clouds (it’s enough dark). So completely dark night lasts for barely 5 hours. I mean when you can’t see trace of light at north horizon.
  • Even then, sleeping for 6 hours takes like 3 minutes IRL
  • Night sky is not realistic (no milkyway for example) and I don’t think it moves.
  • Another annoying thing about time is that it passes quite fast while you are in inventory and you are sometimes attacked when you leave it if you are not careful (eg. it gets dark and you are spotted inside house, you dress cuman armor while soldier just wanders around etc). Artificial intelligence is quite creative when it comes to collecting fines for crimes or finding some reasons to kill you.
Btw I don’t think game passes too fast, I guess it’s like one day takes 60-90 minutes, problem is that half of that time is dark and it’s very inconvenient to travel and sleep forces you to take a short break.

I believe that this is the problem of crysysteme engine. Stars are hard to change.
Can someone confirm this for me? @Hound @Woody @DrFusselpulli ?

Stars are fine, they are just rotated wrong. It’s on my bug list
