Question about the outcome of simultaneous release

Hi there guys. Absolutely a history and RPG nut, i saw that kickstarter trailer last year and was blown away, very much eagerly anticipating this game. Thought i would ask this question here as its the most likely destination for an informative answer.

I noted originally that game was going to first release on the PC, then ported at a later date. This obviously changed a few days ago. I read the game is currently unoptimised from the technical impressions of the Beta so this is obviously a really good thing giving the game more time in the cooker. Will any optimisation done to the game graphically or mechanically for the console version affect the PC version? I saw a moderator in another thread speak like they are two entirely different versions so i was hoping to clarify.

Also. What are your impressions of the beta outside of performance, i am wanting to go in to it fresh so i am holding off. Thanks.

Hi there

From what I understood, the game is being developed and tested primarily for PC right now. When its mostly done it will start porting to consoles, and this extra time will be used for further optimalization of PC version, so they can all release at the same time (which is not specified yet, I guess end of 2016 or early 2017).

My current impressions are that game features are nice, but unpolished, and performance is very poor (most people get about 30fps, some lower, some higher), and there are quite frequent crashes, which can prove to be very frustrating if you are not patient enough.
So if you want to test the mechanics and do some fun stuff in game, go ahead and buy it, but if you are looking for some serious playing time, I would suggest you wait some more time now (atleast until first beta patch).

Just adding that no final decision was yet given. There is just certain posibility that PC release wil be postponed.
WH is just considering their options.

I see. There were some reports on polygon and twitter where it looked like delay is confirmed already.

It looks nice and is very immersive. The sounds are great, it is nice taking a walk through the woods.

Until I get a headache and have to stop playing because it’s running at 18fps on lowest. I really wish they’d consider a bit of basic optimization to get most of us at least above 30, they would get better feedback especially for things like combat. Combat is horrible at a low fps and it is frustrating, but it seems more responsive at a higher fps, for example.

Ok, this piece of information went past me.
I’ll have to check my sources. Thanks for correcting me.
