Questioning the Stirrup Strap Mounting

I’d like to know how accurate is the mounting placement if the stirrup strap on the saddles in the game as compared to real 15th century surviving saddles?
To me with out the placement of a thick cover just under the seat the buckle of the strap appears to dig into the riders upper thigh. A seemingly poor design.
I looked up pictures on the internet of 15th century saddles and this flaw is not very evident . Also if evident on the same place its mount was covered by a thick pad.

How much of a cost in coding to modify this?
I know it is just a game but one that try’s toward realism.

It is realistic, and as a rider in real life, I can tell you, for how they rode back then, leg position and such, the buckle would not have been much of an issue. The game fails to address the fact that riding leggings did have a patch over the inside of the knee, to add more padding to the area, but that is a minor detail.

In today’s modern English saddles, the stirrup leather is much in the same place, but is covered by a piece of leather called the “jockey”. It is an improvement over 15th century saddles, but a minor one. For someone who truly knows how to ride, their weigh is in their heels, and they do not grip with their knees or thighs. They move with the horse, and keep their weight in their heels, and that is how they stay on. Therefore the buckle on the stirrup leather is not much of an issue. Yes it is under the knee/thigh to a degree, but the pressure in light.
