- First let me congratulate the devs. After the Beta came out looking more like a pre-alpha version on account of an infinite supply of bugs, I didn’t think we’d ever see the full game. Well, you proved me wrong! Good job to y’all!
- I LOVE roaming around in the countryside, especially in the forests.
- I finally got better at comabat with a sword. The key was training with Capt Bernard at the Ratay training area, and training, and training, and training. And then training some more. Get those stats up - way up - and fighting becomes so much easier
- In the beginning using a bow is pretty tough. But then nobody in real life picking up a bow the first time and shoots like Robin Hood. Practice makes perfect. I started with rabbits, then went on to chumps (the best way to level bow skill).
- I finally realized I could buy bows from the Ratay huntsman. Much better than trying to loot a good bow off a corpse. Do work on your strength so you can wield the Yes Longbox 77 and do use the better piercing arrows. I love that this combo can one-shot an opponent when the arrow goes in the right places.
- I found needing to get drunk and laid with a certain religious figure to be more than a little distasteful.
- A black sabbath? I thought this was supposed to be swords and no sorcery? In any event no matter how I tried to keep everyone alive, the participants ended up dead. I thought it was the fault of the person that sold the ointment so I killed her. Then much later, I discovered she was alive again. Surely she must have been of the devil. I don’t think the Lord resurrects devil worshippers.
- Henry sure looks spiffy once he’s had a bath. He sure looks nasty after he’s been crawling around in the woods for a while. I don’t know for sure, but I’m thinking shiny armor is a drawback when wandering in the woods…
- The ending! Ugh. You guys sure left us hanging. From the various promo videos I was expecting there to be a huge battle. Instead we get talmburg. Yeah, this was a pretty good battle, but not exactly what was shown in the promo videos.
- Y’all must have spent AGES creating the buildings and forests and roads and … Seems like there’s a lot of detail everywhere.
- I was watching Snow White and the Huntsman the other night, and when they assaulted the castle it looked/felt a lot like the assault on Talmburg! I kept looking to see if Henry was in there somewhere.
- I neglected lockpicking and pickpocketing in the beginning. Spent a bunch of timer later on playing catch up.
- Its really hard to sneak up on anyone while wearing plate armor (duh). Having an alternate set of more appropriate clothing is necessary.
- Black clothing at night along with Nighthawk potions is the way to go when trying to take out a major bandit camp (like the third one the Custodian gives you). I died a lot trying day time assaults in armor. Those guys are tough.
- I thought the NPC players in Naval Action were extremely dumb. The NPC players in KCD may exceed that. For example: I’m just standing there, a NPC bumps into me then complains I ran into them, or an enemy fighter looses track of me an just stands there when I’m perhaps 50 feet from them in plain sight (a good place to practice a bit of archery?)
- I saved my pennies and bought the horse Kanchaka in Uzhitz. A tier 6 horse is well worth the coast. You get places MUCH faster, carry MUCH more stuff, and can gallop from Talmburg to Sasau non-stop.
- Riding a horse in automatic path following mode makes me really dizzy from the abrupt side to side movements. So I almost never use that mode. If the direction changes could be made smoothing, that would be a major improvement.
- I’ve tried riding down enemy combatants at a full gallop but they doen’t seem to be damaged (at least not much) by the experience.
- I get pretty p*ssed off if an enemy kills my horse.
- Savior Schnapps - never leave home without 'em. In the beginning of the game, learning to brew these is a good idea and will save you from needing to go find a bed before trying something risky (or spending your hard-earned cash on potions instead of weapons and armor)
- The chest where I got my St.Georges sword is empty now. Bummer dude!!!
- Is Henry ever going to propose to Theresa, or is just shoplifting the pooty?
- I got tired of paying for rooms by the night and was pleased to find 250G would hire a room for the entire game. If you have the $$$ that saves some time talking with innkeepers.
- Strength 20, Agility 18, Vitality 20, and Bow 20 makes Henry pretty hard to kill in a fight
- I should have taken Nighthawk potions into the mines for the various battles there. Needing to hold a torch sucks if you need to use a bow in the dark!
- I enjoyed killing Runt, but he seemed much easier to kill than I’d expected. Where’s my f***ing sword!
- The guy who knows how to build trebuchet reminded me of a guy I used to know years ago. Really annoying the way they both talked…
- Henry’s dad was bad *ss. Picking a fight with a blacksmith with a good sword would seem to be a poor idea (unless you sneak up behind him on a horse)
- Henry’s come to see us - gets kind of old after a while.
- Good heavens, you look like you were attacked! Well, actually I was out hunting rabbits and picking herbs…
- The trebuchet was WAY cool. Too bad I couldn’t see the damage it was doing very well (I have a secret destructive nature) except for the final shot into the gate tower…
- Fist fighting in the quarry was very satisfying
- The in-game politics revealed in the epilogue makes what we have now seem almost simple…
- I seemed like a LONG way from rescuing Hans Capon back to Ratay on foot. Made me more than a little glad it happened in a cut-scene (lol)
- Henry seems to walk substantially faster than townsfolk, but he has trouble getting away from bandits. Must be the theory of relativity at work?
- Thanks for fixing the archery contest bug!
- I got some red deer meat while the trebuchet was under construction, but although the Beggars Feast was still listed as a quest, Alex didn’t seem to know anything about it? I sold the meat to other denizens of Ratay.
- Sure wish I’d put my best stuff on my horse before going into Vranik.
- Why can’t I get back into Vranik later?
- Why are buildings still burning a couple of weeks after the Skalitz raid?
- I loved (not) trying to help someone chase down a thief, then getting arrested for starting a fight… Argh! Henry decided being a good samaratin sucked
- It would be nice if stuff in inventory and on my horse could be marked as “hold on to this” so when I’ve laid waste to and looted a bandit camp I’m less likely to sell something I want to keep?
- Why can’t quest items be dropped or moved to my horse? At the end of the game I still had the chunk of falling stone from the monastery cluttering up my inventory and couldn’t get rid of it?
- I love the challenge of galloping up a winding forest trail and keeping the horse on the trail…
- 45 FPS at HIGH/1080p with 4.0 GHZ i7-5820K and EVGA GTX 970. I was going to upgrade my graphics card but the prices are just ridiculous atm.
-
- I thought the rain looked realistic, especially the way puddles formed on the ground.
- While Henry gets filthy from galloping hither and yon, his horse somehow manages to stay clean. “And which bathhouse service would you like?” “A bath for me and my horse”
- Has anyone tried assassinating the bishop sent to search for heretics in Uzhitz?
- Between my room heater and the computer cooling fans I found playing with my headphones on made it a lot easier to hear a distant “Who’s there?” and figure out which direction it was coming from.
-
- How long do we need to wait for the next installment?
Really? You think people are going to read such a huge bulk of text?
At least try to work with some paragraphs.
cutscene bothered me. i was on horseback. the Cuman killed his horse, not mine. i swiftly killed them off… so why did we walk back to Rattay instead of riding back on Warhorse Jenda…
keeper (sub)category is much needed along with kit sets (eg, tank weapon and armor kit, thief weapon and armor kit)
hate the NPC collision mechanics. and the NPC stand and put weapon away whilst you’re right there is arguably worst in class. run, act tired (hands on knees), adopt defensive position… anything but stand up straight, wait a few secs and then put weapon away while Henry who just tagged you a few secs ago is looking at you down the shaft of a new better piercing arrow
42 is a good idea indeed
I found it an interesting read and it was quite well divided up into paragraphs.
They say that man Shaft is a bad m… - shut your mouth!
I had close to 180 hours on my first play thru, wasn’t even half way thru the main story, just doing side quests and stuff then I realized I made a HORRIBLE mistake of taking on too many side quests, some are timed, no indication, so I failed those, and ran into a lot of broke side quests, so I restarted a second time, and it’s still bugged, so I’m holding out.
However game is, 10/10 fun, like I’m sad I’m taking a break from it until it gets more patches, but I have complete faith the game will begin a good career for them, let’s just HOPE when they make more, it feels as fun as this title does
