I’ve got the ‘Who Needs a Key III’ Book which says it requires reading level 10
My reading level is 11 but it still says I am not skilled enough to read it. I’ve just read another book which also required level 10 but that one did work…Any one else had a similar issue?
For this skillbook, you need lvl 10 in pickpocketing, not reading.
It’s like with math. If you know only basics of the math, you won’t be able to understand high-school math. The point is, you’ve lesser skills in pickpocketing, so your character won’t understand the meaning in this book. You need to get 10 level of it to understand this book. Reading skills are needed to read letters and some stuff. Basics are enough to read skill books.

I know the question was answered and it didn’t have to do with the reading skill itself, but I’m liking the concept of having to actually spend in-game time to practice reading in order to get better at it, complete with various perks that can affect what happens when you read. That’s cool. I also like that the better you get at it, the more the words shuffle around into what they’re supposed to be.
I looked at a couple alchemy recipes with no reading skill and I couldn’t even begin to make heads or tails of it at first. Now, I could go back and start to follow the directions.
