Regarding the saving system and why the community has overreacted

There has been a massive outcry now since Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released about the saving system. In this post I will go through why I think the community has overreacted and that the current save system shouldn’t be changed at all.

Mainly the fuzz is about not being able to save when you want to and saviour schnapps being too expensive.

Firstly I’ll address saviour schnapps and how it works almost exactly like a quicksaving system. If you don’t have a lot of playing hours you should either brew a lot of saviour schnapps so you can be ready to go at any moment or install a mod.

Saviour Schnapps consists of wine, 1x nettle and 2xbelladonna. The herbalist in Rattay will sell you nettle for 0.1g each and belladonna for 3.1g each which means one brewing of saviour schnapps will cost you 6.3g. If you have more time on your hand you can also find the herbs around the world by looking up where the herbs are found in the herbarium in any alchemy station.

But what about the time it will take to do all of this? I don’t have much time on my hands? Per potion you brew I timed it to be approximately 1 minute 30 seconds from preparation to finish. So if you brew lets say 3 potions using 4 minutes and 30 seconds of an hour worth of playing that’s not very bad. In addition you can get an alchemy perk at alchemy level 10 called bundle alchemist giving you more potions from a successful brewing.

There is somewhat of a minor set back to the alchemy while buying from herbalists and that is the fact that herbalists usually don’t carry that much belladonna, but still enough to net you a good chunk of saviour schnapps.

But what about other options? Well bathhouses are a very simple mean of saving and with the troubadeur speech perk which you can unlock at level 8 speech makes all interactions at the bathhouse free, meaning that you essentially get a free save and a wash.

There are also plenty of inns or beds around and if you see you have no saviour schnapps left and haven’t saved in a while then that is your best option, however not all beds will save your progress which is why it’s useful to carry saviour schnapps around.

The main thing regarding bathhouses and beds are that you can use them instead of your saviour schnapps while within or close to towns saving you a lot of saviour schnapps.

The last thing is regarding the question “when should I save”. There are some factors put into this. “How long do I have left to play”, “How many saviour schnapps remain”, “Do I have a chance of dying here or are there any potential for bugs”. The key to saves lie in how you use your saviour schnapps, sleep at inns and use bathhouses. If you combine these perfectly you should have no issue with the saving system in this game at all.

Hopefully this could be somewhat of help to the people struggling with the saving system

On this point, you forgot these factors

Being an obnoxious tw@t to anyone who doesn’t share the same opinion as you about the game mechanics

Being an even more obnoxious troll tw@t to anyone who doesn’t share the same philosophy as you about how they chose to play this game

Being a intolerant, egocentric troll tw@t to anyone who doesn’t share the same opinion as you about this ‘AAA’ title, and whether they received good value for their money.
