Remastering "The Last Of Us" for PS4

Whatever people’s opinions are of the game (can we leave that part out of this?), I think this story about the process that’s being undertaken to remaster it for PS4 is a very interesting one as far as looking deeper into what’s having to be done to make it happen rather than just porting it over with a few minor tweaks. We’ve seen games reworked before for HD releases (Okami, for example, which benefited greatly from it) so the steps that are needed always make me curious.

It underscores the differences between the two console generations pretty well, and as good as the game looked on a PS3 I’m now more curious to see what the differences end up being on a PS4. I’ll probably have to do some comparisons along the way once it’s out.

At the least, it’s got some programming-related bits in here that might be worth a peek.

The last of it: Naughty Dog on bringing The Last Of Us to PS4

they probably have all the zbrush stuff archived and they just need to generate in-game models that are higher detailed than last-gen. then they update texture size. i doubt anything else is going to change much, leastwise not the awful ai or shooting mechanics.
