Reputation breaks immersion?

Has anyone else felt like the reputation system needs work? That some aspects of it just don’t make sense, I will post a few examples that really broke my immersion:

  1. Captain Bernard and Sir Robard both know Henry is not a knight, yet both refer to my character as a knight when speaking to them because of how he is dressed, they know its him, yet somehow they forgot he was just a peasant because he got some nice gear…like what?

  2. I had a pretty high rep in Rattay before doing some of the main missions, because of this I caused Captain bernard to become bipolar, when going to do the training mission, and then later the mission to the stud farm(Dont want to attempt spelling that XD) in cutscenes he would be blunt, rude, and basically make it clear he wasn’t Henry’s biggest fan, but as soon as the cutscnes ended, he was all like ‘‘Oh good, henry has come to see us.’’ and ‘‘God Bless henry’’ and I was just standing there wondering why he was being an ass one second, and is now acting like I am the second coming of jesus…

And thats the main problem, random NPCs I have never interacted with just crying out to me like I am the second coming, all because i have a high rep, seems a little odd, like I get people know of me and know I do good deeds, but the fact they know me by sight despite never speaking to them, and the fact they act like I am the second coming kind of breaks it for me.

The knight thing i agree with i just chuckle.

However bernard being a dick is kinda like being at work with a guy thats above you and being outside doing whatever. At work your actions can affect that person, but outside of work you’re both just people… At least thats how i see it

I agree, it can be immersion breaking. I’ve had this basic problem with big open world CRPGs since Morrowind. I think it simply comes down to the fact that every written word of the game’s script costs time and money, and every recorded bit of voice acting costs money and time in a recording studio.

What I hate most is that at Low reputation you dont get any quest. No bandits to join or anything. So a tip for all of you trying to be the bad guy: dont. There’s absolutely no reason since certain Quests are locked if your reputation isnt high enough.

He NEVER was a peasant. He is son of smith. The reputation system needs to be adjusted a bit like increasing threshold for “godblessing” your PC.
