So I was waiting like idiot for peychar 2 nights, start looking at different videos and tips why he is not coming. I found if you hide in the barn behind the wall (so even you cant see doors of the house) and wait till midnight he will come around 12:15 to 1AM immediatelly. You may need to wait few times between midnight and 1AM to peychar show up. If you wait and look and the door everytime after the waiting he will show up. If I was waiting in the barn door he never shown up.Hope this helps to others.
Spoiler:
he walks from the direction of the tavern, then when he reaches the wooded area near the old church, he crouches and crawls to the door and then starts jangling with the lock.
i didn’t particularly like this quest because you could never find out beforehand if he was an assassin or not, as his excuse that he gave you makes plausible sense. also the fact that kyeser was hyper paranoid din’t give his story any credibility.
i wish we could maybe talk to the custodian to find out his peychar’s story checks out and then decide that to do from there or maybe pickpocket peychar to find a letter from his master tasking him to assassinate kyeser
Try leaving the doors unlocked for him. Then hang out inside where it’s warm and dry. Knock back a cold one with Konrad around 12:30 and enjoy the show.
This bit of the quest definitely needs to be tweaked by Warhorse. It’s all a bit too random and the quest log is stuck stays saying “you’ve made too much of a commotion come back tomorrow”.
You are wrong that you cannot find out Peychar is an assassin. When you question him at the inn, he says he is a cloth merchant. When you catch him in the night with lockpicks in hands, he states he supplies the custodian with salt and spices. His stories do not check out, plus a merchant sneaking and breaking into other peoples’ houses?
The quest is good and proves that - 1) gamers today want to have a nice, peaceful solution to every quest 2) gamers today don’t pay attention to details.
Thanks, will try that. I was waiting in the wrong place I guess. Whereing armor that shines like chrome probably doesn’t help.
The best answer ever!! Thanks a lot!
One of things I love in KCD (and I loved in Mafia II) is that there is never something pure white or pure black in those games. Same as in the life. You gotta choose and face the consequences.
Turns out, you CAN find out that Peychar is indeed an assassin, and not just by @Kamamura’s reasoning. I let him go after hearing his story about selling salt to the custodian, and then he showed up at Talmberg when Kyeser was already there. The guards killed him, but the Kyeser was pissed at me for having told him he was safe.
