Role Play Game system

I hope there will be somthing diferent than the classic rpg system where you will get enough experience to get level and skill point. I hope there will be somethnig like in Mount and Blade there was http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2011/05/mount-and-blade-with-fire-and-sword-review/fire-and-sword8.jpg Attributes and Skills which are the classic part which i think will be best not to use and ther is thid Proficiencies which was “upgrading” when i was doing this.

Example of what i mean:
I will do blacksmith so i gat better in strenght and blacksmithing. This make sense.

Example of clasic system:
i’m fighting get level and skill point and “buy” blacksmith skill. This make no sense.

But i think if there is clasic system already made or worked on it will be late. I simply don’t like the clasic system.

They’ve said on the website:
Your character is defined by your choices. Your abilities and stats grow depending on what you do.
You decide how you want to appear. […] There are no class restrictions, you can do anything you want to - Stand tall as
a brave knight in powerful armor, sneak behind enemy lines as an invisible thief, or win hearts as a popular bard.

Thats also what I like more than classic skill system

We go the “You get better at what you train” way

Sounds very good, it always breaks immersion for me if I play a RPG by using swordsmanship to solve the quests, but can invest skillpoints in whatever I want.

It’s a while since I played Oblivion, but didn’t that game have some sort of “You get better at what you train (with trainers) AND what you do often (in real situations)”?

Yes this also what I expect.
But I hope that we don’t start the game with a character who have the strength, endurance and combat skill stats comparable to a children and 6 month (this his what I understood about the game period duration as it will be only summer season) after having super hero stats. I hope the progression will be more realistic.

I like this approach very much. Question though: Will there be “trainer” NPCs? Will there be characters you can go to in order to learn a few “levels” in a skill in exchange for gold?

Personally I hope there are not trainers. Someone who can teach a modest skill improvement at the end of an epic questline might be appropriate. Or even better, someone who provides a needed component or access to a piece of equipment that Henry (our hero) can use to better his own skills with after completing a quest would be optimal.

there are trainers. you will learn fighting that way in a safe environment, but my guess it that it probably doesn’t give you as much experience(in terms of rate of learning) as a real fight might.

One of the devs did say something about “going to some famous trainer”, in the combat video I think. I think it was Viktor.

i think that it would be cool if people talked about you in a certain way depending on how you handled a (random and scripted) situation. An example could be that a group of bandits raid a village that you happened to be in you have three choices: Run away,Talk to the bandits/bribe the bandits or you could help the peasants to fight them off. If you ran away then people would call you a coward on the other hand if you chose to fight off the bandits and win then people will call you a hero.

I agree. Something like this is already in the works I think.
