I don’t think there is a good or bad way to play. In any case I decided to play Henry as a man of “virtue” as much as I can. So in doing this I decided not to pillage bodies (except for maybe those who stole from me if that happens in the game), do thievery or really any illegal activities. May be a boring way to play for some, but honestly I’m having a blast. I’m still early on in the game I refused to do the miller’s quest and apologiezed with the erbalist for the delay on paying the debt with him. I dont have money so I have to do things to get a little more to buy myself somenthing to eat, I managed to buy a cheap axe and repaired my clothes, the one I had in the prologe. What about you guys? Are you following a path or doing everithing you can?
I’m literally playing the same EXACT way. I’m still wearing a lot of my original stuff minus the “is that all?” You get with nightingale mission. I haven’t actually killed anyone yet since I usually don’t attack in flurries but more of a “strike, have you had enough? No?, strike, have you had enough?” Kind of way. I know there will come some moments when I get ambushed by multiple guys and will have to fight with more aggression but I usually want to give them the chance to surrender at which time I let them go disarmed.
Meanwhile I’ve killed 428
I’m not planning on playing this way for much longer. The moment my Henry kills someone for the first time he will like it. He will like it too much. If I spend too long without killing someone he will be forced to kill a random person to quench his blood thirst all while maintaining his outward appearance of a white knight and all around good guy. Kinda like Dexter.
lol alrighty then
Yeah I tried to be a good citizen until my first murder. After that, Henry is a serial killer.
I’m playing the travelling knight, guardsman, man at arms type.
I’m in general a good guy, don’t kill the innocent or break the law. I avoid stealing and outright murder, but I may lie a bit if I think it suits the purpose of my mission that will result in the greater good.
This route makes it a bit harder to be rich early, but I enjoy limiting myself.
My second playthrough i’ll go super rogue/assassin/cut-throat type.
I play two ways (playing two playlines at same time). One is the vigiliante virtuous way. At least as far as I am concern. In otherwords, i do not partake in any illegal activities as thieving wherever possible (sometimes its unavoidable due to quest). I do not partake in quest revolving around theiving, murder or the likes. I do not, however, consider looting from bodies as illegal - at the time in medieval ages, your kill’s possession usually fell under the ‘spoils of war’ umbrella and as such, i only loot from dead bodies i have personally killed.
My bad one, is simple, where i have 1 single rule. I kill everyone, at all times, except when they are crucial to the main campaign. I do not buy anything, whatsoever - instead I will kill it’s owner and steal the goods. I do not pickpocket - i murder and pillage. Also, I play with no surrender. At no point will i surrender to guards (who constantly try to fight me), or accept surrounding from anyone else. Also, in dialogue I always pick the intimidate option if it is at all available - even if it is an obvious fail. Having a blast with both.
I’m him when it comes to decisions and dialogue, but during combat I’ll walk up to injured, surrendered, and people now knowing my position and shoot them in the head with an arrow at point blank range. Probably 75% of my kills are exactly as I’ve described.
Nice! I knew there was someone playing like me Evryone I saw on youtube is just looking to get the most out of evrything. Honestly I see a lot of people complaining about immersion breaks but I mean playing with some rules or trying to have sense in your actions (illegal or not) should help it right? I dont want to do things or go in places were I dont have a reason to go, for now.
ahahahhahah thats brutal!
I’m doing the same. Henry, the good knight. Mercifull, loyal, kind and honest. After 60 hours i have a very good equipment and about 8k groshens (pillaging enemy corpses is not dishonorable)… so yeah, it’s possible to play that way and i’m having a lot of fun doing it!
I heard people have like 40K groshens from looting and selling and probably stealing. But really I want my equipment to slowly grow up and not to change from one to another to quickly. But ye I’ll start thinking about looting, maybe not evrything tho, I cant imagine taking out plate armour from a dead body
Wait till you find a frankish plate on a body, then say that again xD
My henry is like a dark knight(not the batman good guy kind). Heavy knightly armor, noble longsword, blood thirsty guy who shows no mercy to bandits and slaughters anyone who stands in the way all because of his past. As for his hobbies, he likes to drop the shining plate armor and rob people blind by nightfall and silence those who need to be silenced secretly lol
Your land is ravaged by savage hords that are murdering, raping and pilliging. Every one f-cker you let go means more dead and raped people, just that he will choose a more suitable (defenseless) victim next time.
No Sir, that is not a virtuous way to play it, that is just wrong.
that is true but what makes Henry capable to judge on a man’s faith? I wouldnt kill someone that knees before me in that case is better to force him to keep fighting to deaht
I dont play a good Henry but one I think is plausible. Yes, I robbed corpses only to regret after a while. I ve stolen from people but only from those I knew they can afford. I brought Meat to the fugitives for a small coin knowing ( or thinking) that this might lower their misery.
I kill sometimes and show mercy on other opportunities wether I like them or not.
What I dislike a bit is that there are scripted scenes where Henry is saying or doing something I never ever would. But I am fine with this because on other opportunities I am totally free to do whatever I like.
I have two separate games I’m playing (and I may start a new save tonight when I get home).
My first was a diplomat. He’s shite at combat and archery, but awesome at talking his way out of things.
My second is more combat heavy, and less of a diplomat.
Tonight I think I’m going to roll a rogue character (Somewhat like Bronn from GOT)
I’ve been thinking a lot about playing with a focus on dialogue its really intriguing but I dont know how much the game offers you following that path .
