Run over people with my horse

Is it possible to kill NPCs with my horse? I was gallopping in Rattay, and suddenly the guard came after me, saying I had killed someone. I fleed, and saw a dead guard on the road, where I had just passed through.
I didn’t see this notice in the patch notes. Should I be more carfeul, or could this have been just a one-off bug?

Ha ha. Definitely. I swerve around them now since it happened to me.
I only crippled the person is what the guard told me.
You must’ve been in full gallop. :joy:

beggars will die fast. Don`t get to close

How do you manage to do this? They swear at me, if I pass by too closely, but I’ve never killed anyone this way. I tried to do this in mounted combat, but my horse would just bump into the NPCs like into a wall with no damage either to them or to itself.

I found the mythical horse head armor and just ran down my first cumin.

It’s difficult, I think it’s more a glitch than on purpose. When the game came out I ran down a guard in Rattay but wasn’t able to reproduce doing it later, you have to hit them dead center when they are facing you or hit them when they aren’t moving.

It’d be nice if it could be implemented…the idea of mass plus velocity is already in the game, with one of your strength perks…it just needs to be applied to the horse mechanics.

That was half the point of using a warhorse, doncha know.

I think they were too worried you would accidentally kill people in towns and other places.

Maybe the NPC are good at dodging. The Cumin I ran down was running away.

Did you do quest for the executioner, about 3 covicts?
I start getting stopped in Rattay periodically after that quest saying I killed someone. I think it’s connected somehow.

The faster you go, the more damage you do. My horse goes over 70, and after the battle of Talmberg, there are several guards that look hunched over, so on low HP? They died after getting hit once.

That’s the norm in my game, too, except yesterday someone fell and now I’m wanted for murder.

No, “executioner and 3 convicts” doesn’t ring a bell at all.

Alright, I’ll keep that in mind. I think mine is barely faster than “50 speed”.

the one north north-east of Ledetchco? Ya, got that AND the chain barding mod for PC.
My super Roach (witchers horse for real in the game (and can get Kelpie, cirllia horse too), and his mod)looks like a real warhorse now!
With mil spec shoes : 67 gallop…weeee!

I dont think so. I just tried to scout the bandit camp that Timmy tells you about and could run over a single guy running full speed!!! Also horse gets spooked way to easy like SUPER EASY. Then there is the fact its easy as fuck to dismount you! Which for a game that is suppose to be realistic really feel short on that one. It was not easy for even 2 people to dismount a horsemen. A. because you were strapped in. B. because of the height advantage and downswings into your head. C. How open the person attempting the dismount became from attempting it.

Playing on 1.5

I was using warhorse Jenda at the time. What horse are you using?

I’m guessing Prolly a horse with under 13 courage, no horsenip perk

Personally I think the horse mechanics is not very immersive when you can run into people at a trot or walk.
Most people should be able to hear a knight on horseback coming and should get the hell out of the way!
It’s shows disrespect to the rider, who in that time period would have been someone to show respect to.
People of low social status should move for someone of a higher social status.
If they don’t they should end up in the stocks or trampled legally.
Just make sure you don’t run over Sir Ratzig!
