Just barely a month after this game came out I am beyond bored with it. I literally loaded it up today just to update it and didn’t even bother playing it. The game is amazing and the combat is also amazing it’s just after one play thru your really done. On my second play tutu the only real differences I got was some dialogue and even less combat than my first run thru the game. I also decided on my second play thru I would commit to thievery but wait Henry says to miller peshek “ thanks but no thanks I’m no thief” really Overall i guess the problem I’m having is everything I read and heard about this game was it was going to be a real rpg with real meaningful world choices but it really wasn’t. Overall this game in my opinion lacked content to make it re playable. Even vanilla Skyrim, fallout 4, and Witcher wild hunt had me wanting to play again bc of different factions to join or endings to get or fun weapons to find and collect or unique side quests. I also remember replaying those games on harder difficulties and having challenges and struggles to overcome some parts. Kingdom come offered none of that. It’s just a straight forward linear story with the ability to waste time doing side quests in hopes of stretching out the game for its inevitable ending. I’m not posting this to just complain but to state my own opinions and hear others. I know this is a brand new game and it will be expanded upon and we the players need to give the devs constructive criticism about what we felt the game was lacking. That’s how future editions will hopefully be improved so hopefully some others here will understand my opinions and also state theirs. All to often I see posts where ppl just hate and bash on each other and then it becomes a useless conversation.
A thief would say that.
Yes, pretty much. The story is the game. There’s some side quests, some of which are great, others terrible, but that’s the game. Replayability is very limited.
And yet you played it for several weeks, and presumably enjoyed it up until the point at which you finished it. I’m not sure what you were expecting, but this was what the game has always been.
Heavy on dialogue. Fairly linear, with a few quests offering choices and outcomes that were a little different, but everything ends in the same place.
Yep, what you’re looking for (And what most of us are looking for) is the rest of the story and DLCs. The game is fun, it really has great gameplay value, but after 100 hours you’re done with it which is fine, that’s plenty of time but the game has potential beyond what it’s at (and i don’t just mean the bugs). Give it a bit of time, and hopefully we’ll see those. The release date did feel a bit rushed but now that it’s sold well I’m sure they’ll continue working on it.
Dont compare a kickstarter game (with a starting staff of 10 people) with Skyrim/Fallout/Witcher.
It’s not fair and not comparable, trust me
Other than that, the game indeed has little replayability indeed. Just loads of side-quests/activities to keep you busy.
Having said that, personally i’m on my 4th playthrough, just to finish it 100% now that 1.3 fixed many (if not all) bugs in quests etc. Also going to find all treasure maps and other secret locations, im setting a challenge for myself
cause i love this game and really want to invest more and more hours into it.
Hopefully there will be DLCs and mods in the near future to keep its flame kindled . In the meanwhile, Mount and Blade II : Bannerlord should be around the corner to keep us busy untill this game reaches its full potential.
I agree with this statement. I think you actually gave me some satisfaction. Strange how that works. I think what happened is a day or so before the game was to release that YouTuber ESO posted a video on how this game was to be a “real rpg” and it was like a 15 min. Video and I think it over hyped me. The other games I mentioned in my post I had sunk months and months into each before getting tired of them so when barely a month had gone by and I was tired of kingdom come I was disappointed. I guess I expected something those other games offer bc they have been around the block a few times and kingdom come just got here. Although one thing I can be great full for is the combat in kingdom come and hope others take away some ideas or something for future games bc it is most definitely better than the button smashing hack n slash.
I get what you mean and I put in my last post a comment about why I think I felt like I did in comparison to those other games.
The story ultimately ends up the same but choices you make can change the narrative , when you attack the bandit camp if you commit too many troops doesn’t something bad happen to a village thr doesn’t happen if you don’t over commit ?
The game needs better RPG mechanics. You can be a master of all and nothing stops you from doing so, because th game doesn’t punish you for spreading out talents and skills. Standard RPG mechanics force you to specialize and if not, you’ll hit difficulty curves that you can’t overcome.
The stats and and character creation need an overhaul. Skills and perks need to be more limiting.
