Ok, so in real life I do tech stuff. I run debuggers on my machine etc. I’m one of ‘those’ people.

TLDR Version : Quest variables aren’t saving with the save file.

There’s a major bug in that quest internal states are not saving with save files. This means that if there are any qualitative states that do not have a valid default value or will hang the game if unset, saving DURING a quest may cause you to be unable to load the save game or can cause unpredictable results.

Proof:

Start the mission to save your father and the lady in the castle. Proceed to stage 2 just before talking to the lord. Save. Reload.
Expected result : Quest will load in the same state it was saved.
Actual Result : Quest state flags are reset, NPCs will repeat initial dialogue repeatedly

This bug will produce inconsistent and undefined results as it’s leaving the game in undefined and untested states.
