I wanted to ask; is it possible to be something else than a homeless fighter, wandering through the lands, seeking revenge? I know that in the middle ages a son of a knight always became aknight, a son of a smith always became a smith, a son of a farmer always became a father… and so on. But in war things changed quite radically, so it would be interesting to see a smiths son take on a higher status - that doesn’t necessarily have to be a high lord or something like that. But maybe a knight or just settle down as a smith in a town - gain a home, or a house.

Player housing is being added.

Three ‘‘classes’’, Knight, Assassin or Bard, so you can be a homeless Bard or Thief if you’d like.
Not always, and there is a reputation system so you can be a ‘‘lord’’ in looks but I would doubt you’d be considered in rank.
Most likely you’ll be knighted by the end of Act III because you’re out to kill one king, rescue another and end a war with your actions.
Peasantry would never be able to obtain such a rank without paying somebody off (with a LOT of gold) and marrying a daughter to a lord, earl, viscount or duke.
Player Housing. You only get the one though from what’s been mentioned.
there is no such thing as classes in this game. putting quotations around it doesn’t really explain it properly to any newcomer.
Thank you for the reply!
Would you mind telling me your source for that because last i heard they weren’t adding player housing.
Alright, ignore that comment then. I kept hearing that they were adding it, so I didn’t get the memo apparently.
It’s on the Kickstarter FAQ.
There will be a set location your player can call, but there won’t be property for purchase.
no word on if you can customize said home.
i’ve maintained for a while that through the story, what you’re doing for your lord and his allies, that a likely scenario is your character becomes a knight. there’s nothing Warhorse has said to confirm this, it is purely speculation on my part but to me it seems entirely possible. i think also that depending on how act 1 plays out, and the subsequent acts 2 & 3, there could be a time later on where acquiring land/housing would be a likely next step under this assumption. personally i’d like to see it, it was cool in Skyrim to have more than one house. and i know advancement in that time was improbable but it did happen, so i don’t think this idea is outside the realm of possibility.
I thik the best option would be to add settling down in act 2 or 3, as the story evolves. So in act 1 you’re the homless smith and warrior seeking revenge, in act 2 a soldier with a home and reputation, in act 3 a knight with maybe a little keep\fortress.
the way I understood it the player will have a place to sleep. so in that sence there is player housing. But you won’t have a costumizable player home.
This is right
