Should i start playing now?

Should i start playing now or wait for more patches im on pc.

As someone who is extremely OCD about pop ins, microstutters, bugs and frame drops, I would say definitely WAIT!

Wait another 3 years until this game is manageable. For your enjoyments sake of the game. Don’t play it yet unless you want to be another beta tester

game is in beta for now, definatly wait

Indeed. The game, while fantastic in its rpg mechanics, story and gameplay is riddled with bugs. It is nowhere near ready and in fact as a kickstarter backer, I feel it needed another 6 months of development.

you can have luck and be able to play (like me) or you can have bad luck and are not able to play…
some have 150+ hours almost bugfree while others cant even start the game…
cant say for sure but maybe its better to wait 1month till some big patches are out.

My hope is that Warhorse Studios will not abandon ship and keep quiet like they have surprisingly done. I have not seen a single Warhorse developer comment in any thread here relating to bad performance/bugs. I only see forum moderators comment. That is not very reassuring I have to say.

The upcoming patch makes zero mention of performance fixes as well. Very suspicious.

I’ve seen some but its very rare you’re right
only drFusselpulli is seen more often and he sits in prague, too and has direct contact to the programmers so he will notice whats going on in the forum

yeah i dont think the game will be fully complete anywhere soon the patches seem to fix only a couple of bugs and the devs havent said anything about the shitty performance at all

Yep, and one has to be on guard with these kickstarter projects. Bear in mind that I backed the game from day 1 on kickstarter and bought the Duke collector’s edition for £120. Played through the alpha and beta and while the performance was horrific in those, I was positive that the long development time and delays would result in a pretty bugfree and properly optimized game. I am starting to have second thoughts. if course it is a bit early to jump to conclusions but the almost complete lacxk of developer presence on the OFFICIAL FORUMS is not a good sign.

Take Assassin’s Creed Origins for example. Ashraf Ismail, the game director has completely changed my perception of Ubisoft. frequent patches, fixing whatever the community requests and a TOP NOTCH PC version. Smooth like butter at max settings and has thorough PC settings.

Not to mention how someone from Warhorse snapped very rudely and unprofessionally on twitter to an innocent customer a week ago, which made headlines and had people concerned.

do you have a link to those headline please?

No problem. Can you imagine if CD Project RED gave such a response? They would still be feeling it to this day. But KCD was made possible through backer’s money and that is why I am worried. I see activity on every single post on AC Origins forum. The mighty Ubisoft in fact could easily ignore every person on there and they would get away with it but no they remain humble on the game, which surprised and pleased a lot of gamers. Warhorse being a new studio should go out of their way to reassure us they are listening and RECOGNISING the issues. But they have been a bit too silent for my liking.

what worry me is that they announce patches for some quest bug, but no word about crashes and corrupt save file

And a whole week before the first patch which has like 3 lines of patch notes… lol

Patch 1.3 - (upcoming)
This is the patch we are currently working on. It hasn’t been released on any platform yet. It’s mainly focused on bug-fixing as we are studiously going through every player report, watching every stream we can and fixing all the bugs as fast as possible. But apart from these fixes, we are working on the following features: (Which is not a guarantee of delivery in this patch ):

Save and Exit functionality (NOT NEEDED)
Lockpicking minigame controls improvement on controllers (NOT NEEDED)
Pickpocket minigame improvement (NOT NEEDED)
Alchemy recipe for respec potion (NOT NEEDED)
Many quest related bug fixes

Where the hell are performance fixes and fixes for the hilarious AC Unity type bugs with wacky animations and horses flying etc?

I hope that they are not intentionally avoiding the performance issues because they think the game cannot be fixed.

I remember my thread of GTX 1080Ti, i7 7700k and 16GB RAM having performance issues was changed by a moderator to “A fast PC is not fast enough” after it was flagged as spam by some Warhorse riders.

Hmm…

Wait. Not even next announced patch will fix all major bugs. I’m also waiting. Imagine you were playing Gothic 3 without unofficial patch. It was also a mess of bugs back then.

start playing now if you are interested in the game, have fun with it.
Play it again in 3 months when the bugs are hopefully patched out and more mods are available and have even more fun

Wait at least a year. They constantly break immersion by having objects and textures suddenly popping in and NPCs having weird stretched out hands until you come very close to them.

The above is horrible enough, but there are also a lot of broken quests and glitched interactions. If you use an alchemy table it might happen that you fly into the air and drop down, breaking your legs, taking a lot of damage or even dying.

Wait 12+ months.
