Apart from eating and sleeping, I think it would be an interesting addition to be able to smoke a pipe!
It could add some health bonuses to a player… like bad lungs! or not! хDD

I still remember all those Oblivion and Skyrim smoke mods that gave such a medieval mood for some reason.
I just saw some shots from the Beta, and I just thought about how nice it would be to sit in some beautiful place near the water, or at the field and just smoke a pipe! ;))

Anyhow, please tell me your thoughts on this topic!

I think it’s essential to hone the core features, have them running pretty solid, and only then implement misc features like this :wink:

Trust me, the devs know what they’re doing and they’ve got a lot on their plate.

Totally agree. There are more important features that require much more attention, but as you said, as a misc feature it would be nice!

Not being able to pin point why something adds ambiance or immersion doesn’t mean it isn’t adding it, that only depends on how you feel. Don’t be a dick.

What would you be smoking? Definitely not tobacco… remember what date the game takes place. :wink:

Heh. In all seriousness, though, pipe-smoking was pretty rare in Europe before tobacco was brought over in the 1500s.

then the game needs muskets because of medieval feel. see how that works?

just because you saw it spammed in a series of bad fantasy games doesn’t mean it adds anything to the medieval atmosphere. if anything, it takes away from it, since it’s such an ahistorical cliche.

Since Warhorse is trying to make a realistic game set in the 1400’s I don’t think tobacco smoking has a place. As mentioned by @Helena above, smoking didn’t show up in Europe until approx 1530. And that was in Spain so I guess it took a few more years for the habit to reach Bohemia.

That isn’t what I meant. I wasn’t referring to accuracy, you said that it could be false that it adds a certain feeling for someone, which isn’t true, as that isn’t dependent on reality, evidently at least. I didn’t say it was accurate.

@Helena is right, no smoking without tobacco. Smoking pipe does not fit into the time of the game.

Maybe smoking some herbs for reason of health. True reasons or imagined reasons, like a plague doctor.

I think vaping should be in the game. There is nothing i would love more than to sit on a log vaping wearing my Che Guevara T-shirt, while telling every one i come into contact with that I’m a vegan, and an atheist.

I think we should be able to smoke food in this game so we can become the MasterChef Bohemia 1403.
