So far so good (PC)

Played about 50 minutes.

had a driver problem, resulting in all characters being black blobs. Not Warhorse’s fault.

had a couple fisfights…didn’t come out of it unscathed, but I won. Swordfighting tutorial, and now I’m picking…flowers.

I like the game. There’s an actual feeling of not being good at anything, rather than simply not having a high enough skill or being good at button mashing. I have actually sensed some improvement, not just in my using controls properly, but in Henry’s gain of experience.

I feel that’s well done. Nobody can erase the bugs and problems at launch- I have yet to see one though- but I think more games will reach for the balance of “player knowledge vs character knowledge vs raw skill stats”. It feels quite logical and progressive and natural. I’m impressed with that.

I’ll be modding the game with the Save mod, soon.

Music and musical integration is wonderful. So is art direction. The overall feel of the game “works”. That’s hard to describe, but it is “true to itself”. It doesn’t contradict itself by what you do or the world is draws around you. To me that’s more than half the battle.

I am optimistically moving forward, with no sense of the game breaking or going awry.

Off to pick more flowers.

So far so good… yup, the same here. I have played about seven hours and have not had a single issue in all this time: no crashes, no game breaking bugs, and any problems I am having are just down to my own inability and lack of skill… which will improve. There are some frame rate drops, some pop-in, some less than perfect acting, and unrefined animations, but none of that take away from the feeling of place, and strong story telling. I consider it a work in progress, and things can only get better.
