The title says it all. Your horse has slots for armour but you can only add head armour and from what I’ve read, it’s more of an Easter egg item than anything else.
There are slots for horse armour which, even if you find the hidden piece, you still only get head armour leaving a slot empty.
It’s disappointing as there’s even a perk that boosts horseback damage.
You’ve named yourselves warhorse Studios and I can’t even have a warhorse!
They will most likely add it later.

Are you find the Chranfron / criniere and the Noble Bridle for your horse ? It seems to me that they increase the stats of the horse. They’re hidden in a bird’s nest. I would like armor but it’s very hard to kill someone on the horse.
With sword yes, very difficult but with bow it is very easy. With halberd also very hard.
One of the best examples that the game is unfinished and released too early.
The game might be unfinished but I’m having the time of my life with this game. I’ve been waiting for an RPG like this for as long as I can remember…
Indeed, and at this point even if we were able to equip horse armor…then what’s the point regarding gameplay ? You are the only one around that is mounted on a horse. Even the wayfaring knight pretends to have one during conversation, but he probably lost it somewhere ^^. It’s certainly a good game, and I have a very good time playing and finishing it, but many content is missing, Dan Vavra stated that they are keeping some surprises and additionnal content for a later date so I think that regarding armor for horses and maybe mounted combat we can reasonably expect something.

Exactly. There is no real point in it at present. Horse armor is really only needed if mounted combat is a major thing. Right now, it isn’t. I do expect it in DLC, however.
In fact, I’m surprised we even have the minor amount of mounted combat we do. See, back in the beginning, KCD was supposed to have a full mounted combat system kinda like “Mount & Blade”, but after a while WH said they weren’t going to have mounted combat at all due to immense technical issues. Then, at about the last minute, the stuck in what little they had already done and that’s what we have now. Be thankful for it. For most of the game’s development, horses were simply a mode of transportation, nothing more

Nothing really happens: none attacks the horse, as for as i know.
That’s just another example of a broken/missing feature.
They should add things like foot soldiers (on larger groups of bandits) wielding mantraps so you can be unhorsed and ran through/ransomed back to your lord depending on your armour and standing with the lords of Rattay. You should also have the ability to trample people with your horse and if it’s armoured it gains a large courage bonus, meaning it’s less likely to throw you.
Lances seem to be another piece of cut content as there are Bouche shields and plate armour described as having a Lance rest. It would be nice to charge down a group of enemies spearing one or two on a lance before dropping pulling out your longsword and going crusader Knight on their asses.

Lances were never announced by Warhorse.
Not announced does not mean cut content. I remember getting attacked by peasant bandits and one of them dropped a “modified scythe” (or something like that) and when mounting up it was held a whole lot like a lance.
That and shields designed for lance use and armoured described as having a Lance holder makes me assume lances were a piece of content that was never addeded; but hopefully will in the future.
Cut content implies it was planned, or already in the game before being removed. Which is not true.
