seeing these posts every day I can only imagine how it will be on release
I just hope there aren’t too many with wrong platform or wrong email etc.

so do I need to wait for a new key or would steam automatically change my beta to release version? somehow I doubt the later since I don’t think steam can even do that.
You will get a new steam key in your kcd profile. You have to activate the release version via steam
