i just want to know if they will fix lock picking on ps4, or have they given up. Its a shame as i love the game and concept, but the impossible lock picking just destroys it
There have probably been hundreds of posts regarding Lockpicking âdifficultiesâ.
Early on changes were made to make it âeasierâ, but I would say what you have now is as easy as it is going to get.
Practice makes perfect. Train w/ the Miller. Get to level 3.
Search for tips in the forum - there are dozens of great tips and tricks.
It is difficult in the beginning but the lock picking-system is actually well made and it starts to get fun quite early on. I am playing on a PS4-pro and I felt it was crazy difficult at the beginning but I very soon changed my mind.
I play on PC with an XB 1 wireless controller. even at level 20 I still find it almost impossible ( yes I have all the perks). I still resort to M/KB method which I find much, much easier.
Iâm pretty vocal about what problems this game has but what I donât understand is why people think this game has bad lockpicking. For the last time, youâre not good at anything from the beginning. Hell, one of the first cutscenes shows Henry swinging a sword around like a bat trying to slice a stick. Lockpicking is NOT a problem and from what serious problems this game DOES have, lockpicking shouldnât be categorized as one of them. Lockpicking becomes so easy after practicing itâs not even funny, not to mention reading lockpicking skill books and paying for training makes it even easier. To be honest and Iâm not trying to sound like a dick, it seems like you havenât even tried to take a good try at it because if you did, you would see why itâs not a problem.
I have tried with a controller. The basic fact is the movement needed to do the job on one stick is not how a thumb easily moves. At least not mine. With my thumb ball mouse and left hand running the E key It is a doable thing.
Itâs not a fact.
for me it is. I find the controller not at all easy to manipulate. The part about moving the ring around to follow the gold button has my thumb not able to keep up. normal major thumb movement is side to side to aid grip and rotate a secondary thumb movement for position of grip.
Lickpicking isnât a problem, but it canât hold a candle to FO4
Never said it did. These are two different games after all.
That something isnât a problem to you doesnât mean itâs not a problem to somebody else. Even with tweaks, KCD lockpicking is idiosyncratic as hell. And yeah I can get over the problem, just as I can get over the idiosyncratic as hell combat system on the way to killing over 4000 enemies
The game doesnât have bad lockpicking, thatâs fact. The fact that people think the mechanic is bad is ludicrous. Just because he has a problem with it isnât my problem. Skyrims lockpicking also isnât broken but some people hate it. Should I also be aware of those people and throw some tears their way? Lol I have more important worries with this game than to worry about someone having a problem with an unbroken mechanic of this game. Boohoo. Practice, I donât know what to tell you. Also, itâs really retarded of you to point that out. Pm him and get emotional if it worries you that much that he has a problem with it then.
I will stick with key board and my thumb mouse for lockpicking. I got âgit gudâ
Bad is a value judgment. It has no a priori objectively evaluable criteria and certainly not within the context of specific aspects of a video game. That makes your assertion an opinion, and not a fact.
That there are even perks arguably make the lockpicking mechanic shitty. âGit gudâ is bs especially when one considers that acquiring drunk and silent perks change the fundamental mechanic. And then, when users such as @longshot300mag talk about a keyboard preference over joystick, that just reinforces the crappy mechanic available for console users
Practice isnât the problem with lockpicking or combat. I can lockpick very hard locks and kill everything that walks.
When you create a perk that enables a 30% nerfing, the mechanic sucks. When that perk is enabled by drinking (an exercise that objectively impairs fine motor skills required by the very task youâre performing), that mechanic sucks even more. When you add on to that a perk that auto competes a task, the mechanicâs suckiness is becoming problematic
Fallout 4 has basically the same lockpicking as skyrim and skyrim had perks for lockpicking. So Fallout 4âs lockpicking is shitty in your opinion even though all of that fluff stated otherwise? Skyrim had a perk to never break picks. I think you like to try and justify things just to make a point that never hits home.
FO4 is shitty, less shitty though. Doesnât mean both have no problems
KCD drunk lockpicking perk is over the top. Aside from making things easier (rather than enabling a new technique), the perk is predicated on a physiological mechanism that defies realism. Cockerel potion (a putative CNS stimulant⊠medieval Adderall if you will) would be better than booze (a definite CNS depressant)
Ah, ok. Gotcha
