Solution for all the problems

Buy it on the pc and or buy a decent rig

My £900 (2017) rig = mini tx motherboard
I7 7700 non k
1060 6gb msi gtx graphics card
8gb ddr4 2133mhz RAM

1080p Ultra settings on everything and all sliders right up max except shaders and shadows they both on med… but i use reshade.me and it looks better way better than ultra shadows. To look at this game modded like this is truly photorealistic.

I get a solid 60 fps everywhere… I’m well aware it says that the recommend settings are 16gb but it’s so well optimised it just works.

I’ve heard so many bad reports on the consoles i can only say buy yourself a pc. If you want to play a truly unique gaming experience this game has it, it’s got a lot of depth than you can imagine and one, two playthroughs just isn’t enough to scratch the surface and I’m afraid on the console you just won’t get it… no mods mediocre graphics and 30fps

When you say depth, do you mean the story? I mean, I havent completed it yet and I’m planing a second run but you can do everything there is to do with one character especially when you don’t roleplay. The only things left for a second playthrough is other options in quests.

dont want a PC just want a desent made game hasnt been one in many many years.

I see the problem in the fact that the developers had to finish KDC for PC AND console at the same time. They should have focused on one thing. When I think of the GTA series, the console version came out first and 6 months (or longer) later the PC version.
Now I don’t want to compare KDC with GTA - considering the size of the development team. WHS is “only” an indie developer

I am on ps4. When i ride into a rattay on a horse it takes 10-20 seconds for most of the textures to load. All the buildings are blurry and i can see straight through some of them.

Npc’s take a bit too long to load as well. Sometimes for a few seconds all i see is a bucket floating down the street before its carrier slowly materializes piece by piece.

True - lately PC has been the last platform, and hence very few games use PCs well.
GTA 5 was a great depature from tradition for the GTA series (1&2 being PC games sure, but 3 & 4 were horrible PC ports)…

KCD is the most intensive game my PC has to play and uses twice the CPU of even the Witcher.

My build isnt worth $1000 aus (prolly about 800$ US).
It is three and a half years old and plays the game at ultra + (everything maxed), except shadows which I change as I need to. (Drop another step when gaming on my 21:9).

Game is fluid, has given no glitches, convos load instantly, and game has never taken ten seconds to load. Even initial loads…

Unfortunately Microsoft are the kind of asshats that insist on games on there platform first (or not at all).
They lossened their rules a little this gen due to having the weakest hardware and abysmal market share, so per usual they play nice until they are on top again.
I think they have loosened their rules a bit presently- but true we don’t know what the publishers agree too and it has put Warhorse in a difficult position. Hindsight being 20/20 they are not likely to do this again.
Personally I dog having the game now- i never buy new release, made an easy exception for this title.

Consoles will come good, in time… they have the horsepower once game is optimised to play smooth.

The save issue is the big thing… and passionate gamers are vocal about it.
As it is identified and deemed to be fixed shortly, we do just need some patience.

I have redone so many parts of story just seeing the vast differences from playing the game a little differently.

Even my partner loves to compare and contrast the dialogue changes and different options that arise.

Like any new rpg, explore the world- that stuff is valid and viable for long term enjoyment… major quest lines in most AAA titles for ten years or more have often been buggy for a few months after launch.
This is standard stuff. Wouldnt have gone supernova if the save issues hadnt happened.

These crazy forums though- only a handful destroy a great vibe. If they could list their issues in a constructive way in fair ratio to all other banter (and not derail untelated threads to abuse everyone)… it is amazing how a few can destroy a community.

Happened to gsmarena and headfi; generally when the youth took over them.
Gyess they need to educate everyone about their new experiences…

Anyhow we should tone down saying pcs are needed to play this game or microsoft will destroy in on pc.

(They can make it constantly play badly/give hiccups and be unreliable- and they love it when forum goers tell everybody to play ot on xbox.)(mickeysoft has been killing pc gaming for awhile; doubly so now that the xbox x is out)

While the OP is technically correct, it’s utterly irrelevant because WH did release the game on console. The answer to a poor console port is not “Build a PC and buy the game again.” The answer is to fix the product that they sold to hundreds of thousands of people for $60.

Am a casual gamer, I have only 2-3 hours a day to spare playing. So for me PC is an overkill. BTW can you upload a video or a screenshot of how it looks on your rig? Just out of curiosity.

I guess playing games in the 80s I’m perfectly fine with textures popping. It happens to me and I’m not even phased by it. If you are waiting on WH to fix it – I think you’ll be waiting a very long time or they’ll fix it by tuning down the graphics even more.

Can’t complain too much because I’m trying to play this beauty with a spud, on mostly medium settings, with some on low. Upgraded from win 7 to 10 and almost completely eliminated lag. Then 1.2.5 brought it back. Got a 125 pound masstiff named Buddy that try’s to become as small as a dacsund an leave the room when I have to enter Rattay or talmberg castle. Really, just looking forward to 1.3 unfking 1.2.5. So is Buddy, lol.
