Solution to the save on exit problem

So there is a small debate going on as to whether or not a save on exit feature should be added to the game. the main proponent against adding it say that it could be abused, which is fair, it could be abused, so i have a solution that should satisfy both parties. When you exit the game the game makes a special one time “exit save”, that saves where you are and what you are doing no matter what. Upon loading into the game from any save (not just the special exit save) the game will delete that exit save. let’s say you are about to raid an enemy camp but something happens in real life and you cannot commence the assault until tomorrow, you exit the game and it creates an exit save, when you come back the next day you can load the exit save and be where you left off, the game will then automatically and immediately upon loading the exit save delete it. let’s say the assault goes bad and you need to load an earlier save, you can load any other save just fine but not the exit save, because its deleted.

Like Fallout 4 does in Hardcore-Mode afaik. And Subnautica.

But to be honest? I can’t take those complains serious. It’s like complaining a flight sim would be to hard to master. Get a pair of balls folks - or go back and play Skyrim. Sorry, not sorry.

I guess you’re fine with the save methods, but not everyone else. I haven’t played the game personally yet, but everyone is having an issue with it. It will be changed eventually even if you don’t agree.

that’s a pretty reductive view, things tend to be more complicated for other people that tend to have other priorities in there lives. this has nothing to do about the mastery over the games systems (like flight sims), this is just a convenience thing that would reduce frustration for many people, the way i have it set up would prevent people from circumventing those gameplay system.

Actually , personally, i would prefer more options, maybe game modes where saving is more lenient, but also a mode where saving is even more stricter (an easy, normal, permadeath mode for example). but this is pretty difficult to add in the short term and cleary goes against the devs intentions. i will just wait for pc mods.

An automatic save every 10 to 15 min and an exit save would be fine. I get the devs don’t want players to abuse the save and reload system. But it’s the players choice whether they want to save or not. Being restricted to it, upsets a large margin of players.

I think in a role play game people should be allowed to play how they want. Add an Ironman difficulty in settings for those who would like the challenge of fewer saves like New Vegas or Deus Ex did.
