Henry is afterall, the only son of Radzig Kobyla, one of the most well respected nobles in the region yet still gets treated like he’s not that important. Henry is a literal nobleman because there’s no proof that Radzig Kobyla had any other children. You can see who the good leaders and the bad leaders are. The good are Radzig, Divish, and Henry (potentially), while the bad leaders are Hanush and Hans
Hans has character arc, so at the end he is more serious then before. And Hans is more noble (Henry is still a bastard, which is not really a big problem, but still Hans is better born). And Hanush also wants Hans to prove himself. You can expect that Hans had some education that Henry missed, so perhaps he would be better at dealing with other nobles.
And may I ask why Hanush seems like a bad leader to you? He is rather straightforward, but not bad really. He is able to see what has to be done in reaction to crimes, he takes care of Skalitz refugees and has good ideas about ho to solve problems with them, he leads successful negotiations with István …
Istvan ends up getting away after kidnapping Lady Stephanie and Radzig and leading a war party against the nobles of the king… he also only puts up with the refugees because of Radzig being there.
It’s not a problem about good man or not.
I think sir Hanush is a fine leader though.
You know the real lord of Rattay is Hans Capon.
Sir Hanush is only Guardian of him till his age.
(I believe the home of Hanush is somewhere of Leipa lands outside of Rattay.)
It is very very big difference to relation of Radzig and Henry.
Radzig admit Henry is his bastard but still not appoint him as a heir.
And Radzig is not in so much big noble family.
He was spoiled just as the general of King and hated by old nobles.(And the king have no power anymore.)
He lost his Skalits(It means he have no dominions of his own anymore.)
In the other hand, the Liepa is very big and strong old czech nobles. They can stand without king’s patronage.
Radzig is treated as a big noble because of Sir Hanush kept him as a friend even he lost everything.
Hanush rent his(Capon’s) castle for Radzig, and permit him to stay.
Radzig never be better than Hanush in that way.
Everything Radzig have now is alms from Hanush(and from account of Capon).
So, relation of lord Capon and basterd Henry is visible.
Capon is already “Lord” promised to get his prompt from his dead father(Only matter of procedure).
Henry have nothing expect from his father even Radzig hadn’t lost everything.
So, if Capon take Henry as his knight, it’s very thankful job for Henry to his future. Very good post.
(And it will give some guarantee for Radzig too, even after Hanush leave Rattay. It gives the reason to Capon to protect Radzig, as like Hanush gave protection for Mirota the cousin of Bernerd.)
Divish is the highest rank noble because he is a true lord himself of good family and have personal job at capital.
Unfortunately, he is very poor cause of his long misfortune. Attacked and burned several times. No money.
So, most powerful noble among them are still Hanush and Capon.
