STAR CITIZENS - I know you're out there!

Hi everyone.

From what I can gather there seem to be quite a few Star Citizens here at KC, not surprising really considering the sharing status between the two games. I think it’s great that there’s this sort of co-operation and assistance between game devs.

I came across KC:D and Star Citizen around the same time last year and saw that they were both referencing each other. Great! I followed each devs progress and eventually backed both. Really excited about both these games.

So who’s a Star Citizen here and what are your organizations? I’ve got a small org of close friends and family, but always interested in joining/affiliating with others.

I go by the name Rik Halderman in The Verse, so if you’re in there already and see me kicking around the forums or on ArcCorp Area 18, feel free to say g’day and have a chat. I’m pretty friendly and don’t bite and it’s always good to make new friends !

If anyone is interested in venturing into Star Citizen for the first time, feel free to use my referral code when you buy a package to get an additional 5000 in-game credits for free. Of course I get a nice reward too. Everyone’s a winner! Code: STAR-4BDN-69NM

Hope to see some of you in The Verse.

Cheers!

I backed SC a while ago, only basic package, i am not that rich, so i have no alpha/beta access (nor a machine to run it yet) but good things come to those who wait eh.

Hi Rik,

I am aware of SC for a long time now , but I never backed the game. Mostly because I got Elite: Dangerous, which is also heading in an interesting way. (I might in the future though)

But one thing makes me wonder: “What is The Verse?”

Maj-Korben-Dallas reporting to duty Sir! You can add me to your friends list if you wish. Currently I have a hornet and my brothers have a gladius and a mustang. Looking forward to SC 2.0 and finding people in the verse.

Oh, yeah, but that does not change things for me all that much, my PC is way below spec ATM, i pledged counting i would get better components once prices drop.

I’m just not rich enough to back it and buy a new computer that’ll run it. I can’t even run KC:D as my GPU doesn’t have Dx11 -_-

Otherwise, I’d love too. Who knows, I’ll probably use that code in the future though. Thanks!

Hi, sorry to tell you the code will only work until 25.10.2015… Just wait another year or two and have fun with the “final” game

Yes mate, also a SC backer (and Elite). If your around the Aussie timezone you are more than welcome to join our group (Aussie gaming group). Mature and friendly and playing a bunch of games - KC:D is obviously among them.
Head over to zerogee.enjin.com

Hopefully you can afford an upgrade in due course and enjoy what’s shaping up to be an amazing game. Cheers!

Hi ProkyBrambora,

Yeah I’ve got Elite:Dangerous as well. Hopefully they’ll expand that a lot more in the future. I enjoy the space flight, but the missions are a bit repetitive at the moment. Still I’m hoping for more in the future.

The Verse is the common expression for the game universe… a term which was also used in the sci-fi series Firefly.

Greetings Maj-Korben-Dallas,

I’ll look you up when I log in a bit later. Yeah, I think another update is about to drop, so looking forward to new functionality and content. Cheers!

Nice. I like the Gladius. I’ve got a 315 and a Freelancer but may well upgrade in the near future.

Hopefully you’ll be able to upgrade at some point in the future and enjoy these next generation of games that are on our horizon. Use my code when you decided to join the SC experience. That code won’t expire.

Yeah the Convention codes last for a few weeks but there will be more in the future. The referral codes don’t expire, though. (Edit: As Skinny mentions below, as of now, no more alpha access limitations apply)

I’m happy to wait around for a game to be well developed rather than rushed out the door, bug-ridden. Much like we are all doing here, waiting for KC:D. Patience is a virtue. I reckon we’ll be playing the Star Citizen single player Sqn 42 campaign around the same time as KC:D comes out. Anyway, there’s enough going on to keep me interested for now.

G’day Mr C,

Great I’ll drop by your group and say hi and ask to join up.

Cheers mate!

Skinny

As of now, if you have a game package, you can play. There is no more limited alpha access.

Well that’s good news for the newcomers! Cheers!

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/15007-Letter-From-The-Chairman

Starting today, we are eliminating ‘Alpha Access’ and the $5 module passes. Anyone who has pledged for a Star Citizen Package can now play today without worrying they won’t have access to some portion of the ‘Verse in the future. No Star Marine pass, no Alpha 2.0 pass… no additional payment needed for any module in the works, pre-release.
Going forward, should we need to put out some sort of limited release it will be done through the PTU test server. All backers will have access to any live release, the moment it publishes.

I backed SC the night before crossing the 42nd million, only a couple of weeks after backing KCD. I’ve been following both of them for a long time (KCD technically even from before it was officially announced) and eventually came to the conclusion that I’ll be damned to some especially cruel kind of hell if I don’t add my own couple of bucks to these two dream projects. 8)
Knights rock and starships roll!

Couldn’t have said it better myself! I think I backed SC around the 47M mark.

Yep backed before SC had made $200,000 on kickstarter. Currently embarrassing myself in GC, I am a knight in this game and a Kilrathi knight in SC.
