Stolen Items Bugs?

I have been enjoying the game so far. But have some interesting observations.

  1. Why the meat which was obtained by hunt, considered as stolen? I had finished quest with Hans Capon, so I’ve gotten the right to hunt in the forests. But somehow I steal it from… who?
  2. I understand that when you steal something in the vicinity of any city, salesmen there know about it. But when I steal some groshes, weapon, armor from bandits somewhere in the wild, away from urban areas, salesmen still consider it as a theft. Why?
  3. And finally, what confuses me the most. I accidently threw away some meat and weapons in Rattae. Then tried to get it back. But it is considered as theft. Come on, I cannot take back my own stuff, even if it was thrown away somehow?

Thanks in advance.

For the hunt meat it was like that before. My guess is it’s a way to remind you that a common peasant like Henry cannot hunt because that’s considered thieving (Poaching) in those days. You can however cook them, they are not marked as stolen anymore (use a kitchen oven). That part for me is logical because historical accurate. Only nobles have the right to hunt.
As for getting back your items, I don’t know, I guess they are still considered as stolen when you take them back. As far as I know, and through my own playthrough, you can store them for a while and after a while they are not marked as stolen anymore (by doing that way, I store a lot, and sell them after few days. I’m over 30k of groshen now). The only thing that bugs me here is for all the food, as you can wait for them to be unmarked as stolen but they are no more consumable, yet you can sell them anyway (which is quite unlogical for a decent merchant to buy spoiled food, isn’t it?)
Hope that helps…

OK.
But what about some random stuff you throw in any city on the ground. Like, “Oops, that was by accident. I need my 67 deer meat pieces back.” And, all of a sudden, you are considered as a thief. Or there is the same rule: this meat is gained by hunting in the forests, so you have no right to have it ?

I don’t really know, I suppose it depends if the item was already stolen or already yours (bying or legally found). Personaly, I have tried dropping items in cities and getting them back, and what was stolen is still considered as such, but I had no trouble with something not already stolen. f-e I dropped my gear one time to do a stealth mission (yeah, I didn’t knew back then yoy just had to unequip haha!) and when I got it back, no problem at all. But when I tried with a few swords I have stolen, dropped them just before being searched by a guard, when I got it back it was still stolen. Same with hunt meat, unless I buy it or cook it. The only time I thought it was bugged, sometimes the button are shown as steal/steal all, but when you take it anyway, nothing is marked as stolen… Idk for that part, maybe a small bug…
Anyway, now I always cook my hunt meat before selling it (except if a quest demands fresh meat), and store all stolen gears in my horse (when I am in a city) or in my chest (chan I don’t need them) until it is no longer marked as stolen (generally takes a few days. Thus far I only have one Milanese brigandine still marked as stolen, I had sold all the rest).
