Stolen items "hot items"

So… Do stolen items eventually become like “unhot” after so many days in game?

When I store stolen items with my horse or in my trunk – I can collect them later and the red head icon next to the item is gone and they no longer say stolen.

Is this working as intended or bug?

Intended. The more expensive the item, the longer it takes.

Thanks for feed back!

but if you want to use them asap and you don’t care about spending groschen you can sell them to a miller and buy them back and they don’t have the stolen mark anymore

As well as price influencing how long it takes to become “unhot” I also believe the further away from where you stole it makes it take less time as well.

I’m kind of curious as to how people know they’re stolen in the first place. I mean, say I steal something from a random chest out in the wilderness… How does the weaponsmith in Rattay know the items I’m trying to sell to him are stolen?

Coz they have a Big Red Hand on them.:stuck_out_tongue:

not to mention one stealing items of a corpse out in the forest where you are totally alone, but when you come to a town all the merchants know that those old shoes are not something you have gotten legally lol
