I was curious if KC will have a strategy screen before starting a battle? More like Total War type setting. I get that you’re a blacksmiths son and what not, but once you gain titles and positions in the game, you’ll be responsible for more troops.
Speaking of realism, would it be possible instead of actually having a overhead view of the actual landscape (when placing troops) that you’d have a papermap or rough drawing in the dirt, with objects representing your troops. For example: “This rock will represent the archers and the best place for them will be on this hill, while this stick will be the cavalry, placed to the flanks, etc.”
What strategy portion?
I see, you’re clueless because you didn’t read the FAQ or watched the videos.
No problem, here’s some information:
The player is just one chess piece on the large chess board. You will use our combat system and fight for your life and try to survive.
There is no strategy mode planned, there is no tactical leading.
You will not lead the army, you will just fight your fight on the battlefield.
Blacksmiths don’t lead armies nor do knights, which are of lower nobility, I think.
Also, this is not Hollywood where the blacksmith becomes the most experienced strategist overnight.
There is strategy in this game whatsoever. Pretty sure the big battles are entirely scripted levels that you can’t really change the outcome of.
It’s an action RPG not a strategy game. Should answer your question.
But why can’t it be both?
Because Christmas only comes once a year…
To which I like to add that in the directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven it is clarified that Bailin of Ibelin was an accomplished siege engineer and a noble bastard which does make him eligible for command of an army
