Strength is RED?

Hello guys new here, I have a question about status. My strength number is 8 but next to it is says in red -2

So my strength is now 6???

How do I get my normal strength back??

I have been using combat to increase my strength but its still staying -2 in red.
??? Any ideas?

Many things could reduce your strength, or many stats really it might be one of the following:

Food poisoning.
Hangover.
Another perk that gives -2 strength for +2 of something else (though I don’t think this would show, I don’t know because I’ve never used said perks).

For further information try to look in your “Buffs” tab under “Player” and check the buffs OR debuffs that you might find.

I have had hangovers but I would think if days passed after sleeping and eating the strength would go back to normal??? Its been days and its still in minus 2 RED… ?

Uhh… well, if you’re 100% sure your hangover is gone then I don’t know.
So you have 0 debuffs? Try moving your cursor on the -2 (I don’t think it works but trying won’t harm.)

Whats you’re carry weight at? Over fed? Any perks that decrease str? Check buffs and debuffs.

AHHHHHH Could it be that I have allot of heavy armor on??? Ill check that out thanks!!!

There are several perks around main lvl 8 or 10 where you can choose a variety of +/- buffs one you get +2 strength but -1 agility and speech with like 5 or so different combinations so you could have very easily chosen one that lowers your strength. If nothing is showing up under perks or buffs you might have a bug. Unless you were severely injured and it’s like a permanant debuff. Try going to a bath house and having them heal you.

Yes this is it! I looked in buffs and I have “golden tongue” and it says it lowers strength by -2…

Is there away to take away these buffs and add them when needed???

Unfortunately all perks you select are for life, much like herpes. But don’t fret, an upcoming patch will allow you to get a potion to re-assign perk points.

once you get so far you may find you will stop assigning perk points to avoid negative effects, after all they are optional as to IF you will spend them or not.

Hahaha love your answer thanks!!!

Yeah what @b101uk said. I’ve sat on perk points until I got to a better level up and then pick which perks I want. There appears to be some hidden perks too, if you run around picking poisonous plants thistles, nettle ae easiest if you collect several hundred (I think maybe after 200 or 300 which is very easy to do in most cities) I tried to watch at exactly what point that occurs but you just get a permanant buff without any notification. Its called resistance and gives you a permanant +2 vitality. The additional info says something about being exposed to so many poisonous plants made you stronger. So if there is something for vitality I imaging there are other hidden buffs for the other stats so you might be able to find something to give you a strength buff. I’d also be curious, I’ve read that 20 is the lvl cap right now, if you could just go practice with captain Bernard and still train up to 20 strength or if you’re limited to 18 no matter what

If 20 is max then yes ill be stuck at 18 :frowning: Im very tempted to start the game over and not use any perks… I wish I had known that golden tongue perk was going to lower my strength :frowning:
