Suggestion on the HUD

First of all I must say I’m impressed for the current light system, especially during the night even though some fx are missing at this stage, but it’s an alpha; ok in short:

-That compass on the top, it’ll be possible to hide somehow? It’s an immersion breaker. I know that for someone will be the virtual guide on your world exploration experience, but I think, if it’ll be possible of course, that’s too much and the map will be enough, not eliminate but just hide as option.
-Second the status health and stamina bar, the same for the compass, at last for the inactivity phase.

It’s a personal suggestion after all, have a nice work and thank!

I would love it if the compass was remade into an actual object that Henry must hold in his hands when looking at it, sort of like the map was in FarCry 2.
If not possible, then yeah giving us quick option to hide it would be swell.

I think all the stuff should be optional and flexible in size. I want the stamina bar but I want it to be much smaller. I personally don’t need the compass but I think it’s good to have one when you need it.

Perhaps some of you know mods made for Bethesda games by mister Gopher. iHud (immersive HUD) etc. I suppose Warhorse should implement something similar - HUD displayed based on context (stamina/health bar during combat etc.).

I dislike the compass quite a lot. It’s really an immersion breaker. I would quite like to be forced to navigate myself. But sometimes it could be handy I must admit. (Especially during overcast days/nights.) Therefore it could perhaps be optional / less intrusive (item in inventory / just on map / toggle-able by buton).

I must also admit I start to hate the reticle golden point. :smiley:

I guess you will be able to disable the crosshairs in the final version. That shouldn’t be a big issue. :wink:

Well, I remember Gothic where npc give you indications for quest subjects, and when you earned enough gold you’d bought a map; map was a physical object that indicates only routes and an approximation location points, it’ll be great to have such similar system, after all on 1403 compass wasn’t so much diffuse, but this is only speculation.
