[SUGGESTION] Pledge Items to help bring more pledges

I’m trying to understand this forum system as I’ve not seen one like this before so I hope I am not posting this in the wrong forum.

It would be nice to see something similar for pledges as Star Citizen offers. Where ships of different sizes/ranks are things you can pledge for in Star Citizen along with hangar specific items, I think a similar thing could potentially be done with Kingdom Come to continue allowing us and future potential backers to pledge with a bit of incentive.

Potential pledge items:

Horses or other mountables (you start with a horse of a certain type maybe? Not sure if this would be too pay-to-win or not)
Pets of different types
Clothing types in sets (not armor as this would be too pay-to-win probably)

Maybe with a single player game like this, nothing really would technically be “pay-to-win”. However, pledging for such items can give players the opportunity to begin with the pledged for items.

Thoughts?

As much as I enjoy a good set of Horse Armor™, don’t you think it’s a bit late to suggest this with the Kickstarter campaign already over.

The KS campaign is over, but pledging is not. It will continue on their own website, Star Citizen-style.

Incoming balancing and story problems…

No. No. Hell no. No. I refu- No.

So that makes you a broke son of a smith who ownes horsearmor but no horse, maybe several expensive weapons, platearmor, a castle, 500 soldiers to lead on the battlefield, the crown of the king. Game should still be challenging and authentic I think. The son of a blacksmith arrives with his own entourage.

I don’t think that’s a good idea nor do I see the benefit for the backer. What you do is simply reduce the amount of time you can spend in the game by buying items/achievements with hard cash.

Don’t get me wrong I’m pro pledging but theres a huge difference between a vessel in a mmo (though i dont like this kind of pledges tbh/ it has some bitter taste) and ingame items for an singleplayer rpg.

Simply add a few items like swords and stuff (real swords) for sale and keep the common backer options like soldier/baron/earl aso.

I agree that the Star Citizen approach of starting the game with more stuff simply will not work here, this is a completely different story.

That said the question of future stretch goals is an interesting one. I think something along the lines of each game team supplying a list of what they could do with their part of the project (combat, clothing, horses, etc.) if they had an unlimited budget, and then as a group they pick the most beneficial/realistic additions to the game to use as stretch goals.

Anyway, I am interested to see what develops as we go. Besides an awesome game, that is.

I’m all for DLC, but any new items should be realistically added to the world space when purchased, not given straight to the player from the start (as was very badly done with cars/clothes DLC in Mafia 2).

Does not quite work for a single-player ( as it stands now ) game. And though I am well into swords and perhaps would like some specific design, I could have one custom made myself and pay more or less the same… unless they are almost giving them away.

P.S: Say, the fellas from Lutel reside in the Czech Republic, no? Adds a tinge of pleasant irony to my statement.

I agree with the general consensus.
Good Idea, Your heart was in the right place with this thread, just wouldn’t work with this style of game .

What the hell people. You dare reply to my thread with logic and common sense? How dare thee!

Seriously though thanks for the replies. You have all made great points that I, in my excitement and desire to give others reasons to pledge more still now that the Kickstarter is over, hadn’t thought about! I can’t use Star Citizen logic when talking about a single player sandbox rpg set in the 15th century.

Please, no senseless swag and NO exclusive ingame items. Just no.

well now that i think about it, buying a spaceship like in SC wouldnt make us too OP to start…

As a single player game I think is not worth to pledge for in-game items.

The game already has 2 DLC (Act II and Act III), and some people got these with their pledges.

I think they could offer the Act II and Act III at a reduced price in the new shop.

Extended goals for additional mechanics and performance…yup thats the only way I could see this working…Unless of course they DID end up eventually making a MP Tournament Mode… then pledging for in-game guild swag would become the name of the game. lol

As for what I would like to see to bring in more pledges…falcons… duh. :stuck_out_tongue:
