Summary of Quests in Alpha (0.4) WIP

Smoke on The horizon

NPC: Beilif
Issue: There is smoke on the horizon. Beilif sends you to investigate.
What’s next: When you arrive to the burned farm you see dead bodies of cumans, farm men and czech soldiers. Talking to soldiers you learn:
Cumans attacked Kolben’s estate (that’s how the farm is called)
Soldiers are under the command of Zbyšek of Karolinenthal and they came to defend czech lands
Talking to sitting soldier near the carriage you can get the quest: “Easing the pain”.

When reporting to Beilif he tells you to ask soldiers if they need anything. Asking soldiers in camp can lead you to:

Lost Keys

NPC: Beilif
Issue: Beilif lost his keys while drinking with Shopkeeper and cannot get inside his house.
What’s next: When you talk with Beilif he tells you the story. Go to Shopkeepr (you can talk to other people Beilif mentions but it is not really necessary). Get the story of what happend from Shopkeeper. You learn, among other things, that Beilif woke up with wreath of nettles on his head. This implies that the Herb woman had something to do with it.
When you talk to her she will confess that she stole the keys but gives them back only after the Beilif apologizes for the ruckus he made.
Beilif refuses to do so but after a while he is scolded by his wife and soon after he goes to apologize.

Before completing the quest you can ask Blacksmith to teach you how to lockpick (having high speech or charisma will help you achive that, otherwise you have to pay him). And then you can open the Beilif’s house and chest with lockpick.

Sick Bastard

NPC: Beilif, Jerry
Issue: Jerry claim he was poisoned by Marianna (Tavern keeper)
What’s next: Beilif tells you to investigate the poisoning, when you talk to Jerry all he cares about is punishing Marianna and getting Antidote.
Go talk to Fisherman near the pond. Talking with him you notice differences between Jerry’s and Fisherman’s story. Then talk to Marianna, here you can choose sides but it should not affect your final decision if you decide to go with the other side.
After that (or anytime between) go inside Jerry’s house and break into his pantry where you discover rotten meat.

Antidote: Making antidote is not mandatory. But if you decide to help the bastard just go to Herb woman and ask her. If you have higher speech thing will go more smoothly. Herbs woman will tell you exactly what to do. But for making the potion refer to: Nexus alchemy.
Antidote has to be given to Jerry before talking to Beilif about result.

When you have all information needed talk to Beilif and tell him what you learned. There are three options:

  • Jerry ate bad food
  • Marianna is a whore.
  • Jerry’s wife poisoned him

Beilif won’t believe you if you tell him the Marianna did this. But he will believe you that Jerry just ate something bad, but actually his wife poisoned him, both those endings are viable.

You can always decide to take money from Jerry and not to tell Beilif what you learned.

Damsel in distress

NPC: Marianna, Noisy soldier
Issue: Soldier with red cap is noisy and Marianna is losing her nerves.
What’s next: On evenings talk to soldier with red cap and fight him to shut him up. He will then apologise to Marianna. You need a sword for this option (you can get one in Arena or by killing Cumans)
Or instead of fighting the lad you can talk him into wooing her. Which will also solve the problem.

Troubles in Smithy

NPC: Blacksmith
Issue: Blacksmith lost his hammer, help him to find it.
What’s next: Follow the blacksmith the first evening. He repairs a fence and lost his hammer (near the old shooting range). Bring the hammer next day to the smith.
Reward: 10 groschen.

Flute

NPC: Farmer the neighbour of the Blacksmith.
Issue: Farmer is annoyed by Blacksmith and wants you to steal his flute.
What’s next: Ask Blacksmith where he lives and he will gladly tell you (odd fellow). Get inside his house and open the chest in the kitchen where is the flute.
Now you can either give it to farmer or return it to blacksmith.

Reward: Farmer 8 groschen or Blacksmith 10 groschen

Lost sheep

NPC: herdsman near coal station.
Issue: One sheep got lost, find it.
What’s next: Find sheep near stream on the side of herbs woman forest and herd it to the herdsman near cal station (there is already bunch of sheeps).
When you complete the quest you get a Bow and 20 arrows.

Easing the pain

NPC: Soldier sitting near carriage in Kolben’s estate.
Issue: Soldiers friend Miroslav is dying, ease his pain.
What’s next: soldier asks you to bring Herbs woman to ease Miroslav’s dying. When you talk to the herbs woman she will slowly walk there.
Miroslav’s friend will thank you. When Miroslav dies dig him a grave under a tree in front of estate. Talk to Miroslav’s friend. (He has a name, which he can tell you but I always forget it).
After that you can go to Zbyšek and tell him about passing of Miroslav, he will thank you but give you nothing unless you ask for the money, you heartless bastard.

Medicus

NPC: Soldier in camp in white shirt.
Issue: Potions are needed in camp to help wounded soldiers.
What’s next: Soldier in white shirt will tell you to ask the Herbs woman to help his wounded friends. When you talk about it to the woman, she will tell you what Herbs and potions you have to make and bring them to her. (instructions here)
After you bring them to her the quest is done.

Get The cumans

NPC: Zbyšek of Karolinenthal
Issue: There are cuman in the forest, go kill them.
What’s next: After you defeated all enemies in arena Zbyšek will give you quest to kill cumans. If you do this and take their ears he will give you money for each ear.

Note: Killing cumans with just sword is pretty hard. Best way is to approach the cuman camp from the left side. Or just kill them with bow, but make sure you have enough arrows (around 35).

Reward: 60 groschen for every (right) ear

Our little house in Kuttenberg

NPC: Ludmila the wife of a farmer in Merhojed.
Issue: Ludmila needs you to find a deed on the body of her dead brother Pavel
What’s next: Pavel is lying amidst of dead bodies at Kolben’s estate. When you find him there is no deed on him. Talk to soldiers, eventually you will learn that one soldier in cam has it (he wears a green cape). You have several options how to get it from him.

  • Gold
  • Speech (requires leveled spc level)
  • Fight
  • Or by opening his chest at night.

When you have the deed return it to Ludmila (I tried this quest two times and both I could not return it)

Reward: A horse (“Louis”) or 100 groschen…(with bug you get both)
If you want the horse, you must visit Ludmila´s man on their farm.

Stealing Lešek

NPC: Lešek, soldier hanging around a carriage at the end of the camp.
Issue: Lešek is selling army supplies.
What’s next: For this quest you need high spc level (I had 18). If you talk to Lešek and persuade him to sell you something he will tell you to go in the evening to Samopesh tavern.
When you go there he will sell you gauntlets.
With these you can go to Zbyšek and tell him that Lešek is stealing. This will end up by Zbyšek demanding of Lešek to return all the money he made. But Lešek runs away (you cannot stop him with a sword, I did not get to trying out bow though)

Before buying gauntlets at tavern you can tell Lešek that they searched his chest. This will lead to to his secret stash of gold.

Arena

NPC: Trainer
Issue: You can train in the arena
What’s next: You can either go against real opponents or get education from the trainer.
There are three difficulties of enemies first two are much easier than the final full armor clad knight.
By defeating each of these three enemies you will receive equipment. (Helmet, Armor, Sword)

Shooting range

NPC: Soldier in yellow clothes
Issue: You can compete in archer games
What’s next: To compete you need a bow and arrows. (you can find these in a chest near shooting range or you can buy bow and arrow from archer trainer in samopesh or by finishing “Sheep quest”).
There are two ways how to compete:
Precision - shooting at traditional targets for pints
Logs - shoot at logs, the more you knock out the more points.

**Reward:**Money and Strength(points)

If you complete the sheep quest you get a bow and 20 arrows(+2 groschen)

Hi thanks a lot, i updated the mentioned quests.

I leveled up the speech by doing every quest I could and asking every possible question.

It is possible to solve the quest without a sword fight.
You can tell him what he can do to get Marianna

Marianna said she is lucky about the new words from soldier…
