Support for assassin style gameplay?

So i am really curious about this as i love to play the sneaky stabby or shooty style gameplay and i want to know what all i will be able to do and perhaps suggest new such abilities for that style gameplay.

So first off i would like to know if i will be able to be prone and crawl about to reduce visibility of me in areas.

Next will there be climbing and the ability to jump from area to area similar to parkour as this helps gameplay like that.

Will there be cross bows? As all i have seen thus far is bows

Will there be rapiers or duel wielding?

Will there be blow dart guns? for delivering poisons

Will there be throwing knives or weapons?

Will we be able to build traps that we can use?

Will we be able to fire more than one arrow from a bow?

How will wearing darker cloths or hooded cloths effect gameplay?

If the answer is no to any or all of these will these be able to be implimented via patch? Or will that have to be some kind of mod? Please keep in mind that i am a ps4 player and have no idea if mods will be a thing for us.

I don’t feel like a lot of this stuff is in line with what KCD is shaping up to be. I’m sure that there will be assassination skills and mechanics, but i seriosuly doubt Warhorse will be adding any dual wiedling or parkour features.

point 4-9 are basically just non-hystorical “fantasy” stuff (maybe except for the traps) that will (hopefully) never be in the game! cross bows would be nice but as far as I know they are not in the game, and to be honest bows are better for assassins anyway because crossbows are louder than bows. There is no crawling (only normal sneaking) and definitely no parkour.“How will wearing darker cloths or hooded cloths effect gameplay?” Those clothes will reduce your visibility making it easier for you to sneak, but people will probably be more suspicious towards you when wearing shady clothes than if you were wearing nobleman clothes.

The game definitely allows you to play as a Assassins the way they could have worked in the actual medieval era with a lot of cool mechanics like poison with which you can poison the food of your enemies or the ability to disguise yourself as a member of the enemy group through wearing their armor and pretending to be one of them additional to the standard RPG stuff like sneaking and one hit sneak kills with daggers, and bows are very strong in the game so a well placed shot can also instantly kill if you hit a vulnerable unprotected area.

We have to differentiate a little bit. Why are traps bad, they were used for hunting.

Probably DLC or expansion packs will deliver them.

Sorry rapiers were developed in the 16th century. It has not to appear in a game in 1403. Talhofer describes dual wielding (sowrd and dagger) but it was rare and the dagger was used for the killing blow (between armor plates). But dual wiedling will not be in the game.

Actually blow gun darts existed in Medieval Europe. The illustration below is howerver from 1480.

But there are 14th century illustrations as far as i reckon, but I don’t have them. I don’t know if they were used in Bohemia though @warhorse: Did you find something out about the usage of them.

They were used for hunting and not for assassinations though

6: Will there be throwing knives or weapons?

Not that I know of, would be nice for hunting. Dedicated human traps are fantasy

Thank God no!

It was said already that the clothing affects visibility and noticability. But there are only two kind of hoods.

Assassins are imo a pretty over rated profession. Most the time in real life, it’s about convincing some sucker to stab the shit out of a guy while he’s eating lunch and running like hell. The head of the order of the Hashshashins (the people who the word is derived from) had a habit of ordering his loyal assassins to jump of cliffs to impress people (and they’d do it too). What made these guys weren’t terrifying because they knew parkour, or had medieval James Bond gadgets; they were terrifying because they were perfectly happy to get themselves killed if it meant you died too. That’s what makes effective assassins.

Are you aware that the arrows would lose more than half of their energy if you do so, and that arrow which are shot this way, are useless in combat?

So the French martial arts of running away as quickly as possible?

That is not true, rudimentary traps have been adapted to human warfare and were especially effective during the Vietnam War.

I rephrase myself dedicated human traps in Bohemia 1403 are most likely fantasy.

You certainly took the time to talk about a great deal i had to ask and i greatly appreciate that. However i am sad to hear some things are utter fantasy and while rare i still would enjoy doing dagger sword if they ever implement it. As for traps i was thinking hunting traps like snares and the like that could be used on people.

I was thinking Crossbow however for long range targets as a bow has less range but can be used closer without detection. I do however hope to see the dart gun make an appearance as that would certainly be fun.

However i should have been a little more specific with hooded cloths will using those while committing a crime keep notoriety from going up? Much like the bandana in red dead redemption.

Still the same idea could be applied
