Survival Gameplay

I’d like to know a bit more about survival, I’m very interested in games of this genre and that’s one of the factors that motivates me to both play Kingdom Come Deliverance, and I wonder if we can hunt for meat from animals , drinking water, and other things involving survival issues. Thanks in advance.

You can hunt and loot meat. You can collect herbs and create drinks. Survival means you will die if you will not eat, drink and sleep, and treat your wounds, sickness or bleeding.

Pretty cool, and do you know if we’ll have houses to live in ? It’s another question of mine.

No, your character is homeless, there is no system in place to buy/manage (a) house(s).

Well as far as I know, you can be given some place to live. Mainly in progress of main story line or some quests

In medieval reality, most people had no home of their own, but lived under the roof of their masters. be it that they were working hands living with the peasants on the farm, apprentices or journemen living with their master, or personel and servants living in the house/castle of their lord.

Not strictly true.

The franklins and yeomen own their own freeholds (or a leasehold) they own their own time, the produce of the fields and other labours and can sell and move on if they so please. Some of the more wealthy franklins will rent an entire manorial estate from a lord and manage it in their own right (removing the financial risk from the landlord to themselves, but also securing status and wealth if they are skillful and lucky.)

Villeins are permitted a living on their lord’s land, they may own the right to manage land in their own right, but must perform duties to the desmene and strictly “own nothing but their own bellies”. In practice, most lords only extract Heriot (a fine of the most valuable chattel, on the death of the villein) and control and restrict the movement of, and the marriage of these unfree members of the peasantry.
Below these come bondsmen (indentured servants or slaves with no particular rights even in practice).

The ranks of the townsmen have similar structure, with wealthy merchants or guildsmen being equivalent to the wealthier franklin or yeoman peasantry, and with tradesmen equivalent to the tier below of poorer franklins and yeomen. Labourers serve the same role as villeins, and in addition to bondsmen there are also moderate numbers of beggars, far below the status of even the least fortunate villein.

While the free yeoman farmer might be of higher status nominally and be able to generate more income in bountiful times - in times of hardship he may envy the villeins, who are supported and maintained in order to preserve the manorial wealth and productivity (they are valuable commodities, responsible for most of the income and thus for a good lord, who has an eye to profit, worth investment).

NOTHING has changed…

Thank you guys
