So in this video, I am wearing full plate armor and a hounskull. As you can see, the halberd takes down the enemies in chainmail pretty quick, at least the first 2, the third one I can’t tell what armor the Cuman is wearing but I am striking his arm and it is not phasing him which is why I had to switch to a mace. As you can see, I nearly died with blows to the head with the Cuman sword despite wearing a hounskull, i’m not sure if this is due to running out of stamina or cuts to the throat, in slow motion you can see. Should a sword be causing this type of damage to my characters head?
Of course it shouldn’t, but the problem is: animating strikes to weak spots like eye slits, the groin, arm pits, etc., is really, really hard to do if it’s supposed to look fluid at the same time, half-swording as well, so failing that the recourse you have when making a game is to make swords somewhat useful, even against plate over mail over gambeson.
well considering your stamina is fully depleted and you are taking a lot of hits in that state I’d say yes
I say yes because of both as they are game mechanics. 1st for game play simplicity and the second a game rule for game play.
ceremonial mace w/ perks and modded bain is a terror to armor BTW
They might have damaged out your armor to the point it was not protecting you anymore. That would make since to me.
But any battle you can walk away from is a good one; And you really held your own👍
Your stamina was obviously depleted, which means that your armor, whatever armor you wear won’t help you. That’s the cause.
surprisingly the armor was still in the 80s, that is why i am surprised. I am guessing the lack of parrying with the halberd meant i was taking full slices and stabs maybe striking the chainmail in between my neck area and the helmet.
Yeah you can’t do perfect blocks with a pole arm. I wish you could because I would never loss a fight. But it would be too OP lol.
