Sword combat

i think everyone should have there opinion and i dont think people should be ignorant to others feelings about a subject so pleae read this fully before you respond Thank you

the combat is flawed for sure
its kinda based on luck not on real combat
i have used keyboard and mouse and controller
and had the same results
you cant block at time within a fight and they cant defend at time
and thats just not right
yes some attacks and repose cant be defended but when your in a fight the reactions is ether sluggish or non responsive at all

and if i am fighting near a bush or a tree the opponent seems to always go though them and i cant follow or i get stuck on something

when on a mission i find myself outnumbered by 3 or 4 its really not cool as the combat does not give you the freedom to deal with it if they come from multiple sides

now yes i understand how its meant to be but in REAL LIFE!!! as the game is meant to be authentic it does not react as it is meant to be giving you easy access to not Lock on and just swing and this not how it should be

i dont think its a overhaul needed but a option to lock on and fight 1 v 1 or a way you can just move and swing freely when needed as this would be better with dealing with many opponents

i finished the game once and on my second play through so i am not some noob
so i am just saying that the combat is very flawed and is not really fair in some ways ( mostly sword play and heavy armour ) stealth fighting is far better and way easier to execute

i want through as a stealthy fighter and it was very easy at some points it did get hard but for the most part it was good and i really enjoyed it

but with a sword i find it very clunky and not responsive to the needs of the situation and no freedom to switch and attack who i want when i want and i find this really drags the fun from the game

PLEASE!!! can you just leave eater tips on how to improve my game with sword and heavy armour or give suggestions on how to play things different

and PLEASE!!! dont rage give response that helps and does not rage its just my opinion its not cannon or law
please take it as just a suggested idea or thoughts not that i am saying everyone else is wrong
Thank you

Biggest tip I can give: skill up with Bernard, once you’re high enough level you’re basically a god.

Don’t think many would argue with you that fighting multiple enemies can be a bit of a headache in terms of fluidity. You can still block attacks from enemies you’re not targeting, you just have to keep an eye out for that green shield and be super quick on the block. They key though, is to keep moving and keeping just 1 or 2 enemies within strike range at a time and in front of you. Keep the enemies between you and their archers as well as they have no qualms shooting their friends in the back which also gives you an opening. I find it best to just stay on the defensive and wait for my openings when outnumbered, ripostes and clinches are your friend.

Once you get a decent suit of full plate and a good sword on top of decent skill levels, those 1v5’s will be a cakewalk with you taking precisely 0 damage and one-hitting everything.

This. You just described what real life combat is buddy. Even in real life fights, 70% of it is honestly luck. You maybe extremely skilled but one unintended lucky shot is all it takes to end a person.

As for this, you can’t strike multiple opponents with one swing in real life. It maybe true in movies and fantasies but unfortunately not in real life. After you strike one person, your weapon would lose most if not all of its momentum and stop at the first enemy so it probably won’t even touch a second one. The locking system is there so that it simulates your focus. In real life, you can’t focus on more than one person at a time. If you take on more than one person, your only option would be to keep pulling back to avoid getting flanked(if you get flanked ,you’re good as dead) , dropping the closest person and then switch to the second one. Now if you want to switch in game, just move your mouse or press sprint as it’ll break the lock and you can focus on a new enemy. As for feeling sluggish, I don’t know if it’s the controller delay or a personal feeling, maybe turning the mouse sensitivity up might help.
