Maybe it is just me, but i find the combat training, sparring in Rattay very hard. The trainer is so good that i don’t have a living chance to actually realize my mistakes. I find that the training leave me more confused. Everything happens so fast, no indications if i actually hit the guy. He uses all kinds of combos, so i really struggle to asses my own performance. He blocks everything i do, and i actually try to do the things he taught me in the training misdions. But none of them seems to have an effect, since he is so good. Any ideas?
It takes the time. In 2 hours you’ll be machine. Also, this’s what you get after wasting a few hours on arena.
That’s all very good. But how am i supposed to learm, when i dont get the chance to do anything before he unloads a flurry. He block my EVERY move. Have trained for half an hour, and not gotten a single AHA moment yet.
You should parry his attacks and etc. When you get enough skills in it you’ll be able to make a move on him.
To give yourself a greater chance of landing a blow against him. it helps if you aim your sword at him in one direction, then just before you strike switch your attack to the opposite direction. That will give him less time to block or parry your attack as you’ve caught him off guard.
I believe he or any other trainer told me about that technique and it works very well for me, hope that helps at least a little.
So only parry? I can get in a stab if i am lucky, but never slash. I actually like the combat, but would be nice if they scaled difficulty down when fighting with trainer. No trainer would just unleash all his skill on a rookie. A real trainer would gradually work up difficulty. So not very realistic, and quite annoying.
