I have the tanner perk but I don’t see how to skin animals. I have a boar and a rabbit laying in front of me and my only option is to loot the meat.
I think you can’t skin the rabbits. You should be able to skin the boar tho. Did you kill it after getting the perk?
It seems to be semi random. While every animal has a chance to drop a pelt, it’s not a 100% chance.

Hares should be skinnable because there is a quest for it. However maybe its really per chance since I have the perk but havent killed a million hares yet, however the 5 I killed after the perk had nothing
Do you have a dagger in your inventory? I keep one in mine and have gotten rabbit pelts.
Also, I noticed that any animals that you killed prior to having the perk will not drop a hide.
I was out hunting and got the perk thinking I’d be able to now skin them and take their pelts… alas this was not meant to be.
I had same problem, so from the kill you get lvl up from, loot it before lvling up.
