This game could really use some higher res textures.

Please see this small gallery i made from “the Prey” mission as samples.

As you can see, many of the ground textures are low res, as well as things like trees/logs. A lot of the environment textures in the game could use some higher resolutions. Does Warhorse plan to release a “high res” dlc like Skyrim had for us PC users? Maybe it’s something we can just opt to into through an update?

Otherwise, I look to the modding community! Is there any efforts for a texture pack mod yet?

I want start a HD textures pack.
Any new about the dds format in game ? :frowning:

Stupid console version, no modding, ultra low res textures, i have a 8gb graphic card, i don’t have a stupid console thx devs…

I can start a texture pack when i can rework the DDS textures ! thanks !

Hello FantasyWarrior. I have some leads and you can view my thread on the nexus forum here.

It is something to do with the way CryEngine splits the dds files. I’m not sure how to reverse engineer the DDS files. I could replace the files using CryTiffPlugin but it would be stabs in the dark. Because I’m not sure what i’m looking at. The other problem is it’s likely Warhorse made custom changes to the engine so I’m not even sure that method work anyway. The tool that was floating around doesn’t seem to work anymore, at least it doesn’t do anything for KC:D dds files.

It seems like it’s just a waiting game for Warhorse to release official tools unless someone comes up with another solution.

EDIT: Of course the thing that would be better (for me) is if Warhorse just released a high resolution texture pack themselves. :smiley:

My intent is just to replace some of the ground textures/wall textures anyway.

I can rework all textures no problem :wink: based on HD photos, grounds, trees, stone walls…

So we just need to find a solution for the dds format !
I search too ^^ we can do it !!! :smirk:
