Textures Loading Slowly [PC]

Hello,

I’m on PC and I have an issue where a ton of my textures load very slow, to a point where i’ll be standing there for twenty seconds and then they’ll finishing loading. I’ve tried my GOG version and my Steam version, and it happens on both for the latest patch. I’ve tried reinstalling without mods and verifying, too, and it is still a problem. It is pretty jarring when I walk into a village and the pathway or all of the buildings look like playdough. Any idea what could be the issue? The game runs very smoothly, and I haven’t experienced any other bugs so far, just this issue.

My specs:

  • i7-8700k
  • RX 570
  • 16gb RAM
  • 500Gb SSD
    All of the components are at default clock speeds, by the way (never OC’d em).

I have similar rig and had same issue a long time ago when travelling through Rattay. I haven’t seen a huge problem on my last walkthrough though. It also did not happen all times. It seemed to me you had to load game once and then again. But it’s not a solid solution.

I thought maybe letting it load throughout various towns once through (as in, walk around and let each thing load in once) would fix the issue, but it seems to reset as soon as I leave the area. I don’t recall seeing this on the last patch, or if I did, it was so minor that I never even noticed it. :sweat_smile:

This issue is still happening, and it is getting worse as I progress further into the game. I have to be honest, it is so bad that I don’t even want to play anymore. I have higher settings, get good FPS, but it looks like pure garbage.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Maybe try to individualise your graphic setting with a customized user.cfg
