That ending.. (spoilers..i guess...duh!)

Finished the game.

Been quite a journey with exactly 1 minute of gameplay lost via bug (tried to get a haircut) and one random crash.

I like the game. Some quests seem to be bugged. either dialogue options are mixed up at times, or the writing is off, with henry posessing knowledge the player doesnt, schroedingers trebuchet being both saved in time, and not saved in time with Totti (Tobi Fayfar) alive and well, but sumoltaneously reported dead…

But all in all, a good game.

I have no real problem with the ending, seems like a perfect setup for another part that was mentioned as far back as the early KS days.

What i do find odd is, that the game could have ended and left me with a sense of pride and accomplishment, and some peace, as well, with henry and DadRad riding home. OR henrys dream of Father… I’d have preferred the ending after the dream.

The exposition dump right thereafter felt a bit…tacked on. or maybe it wasn’t.

I’m not sure, if I should be greatful for the chance of roaming the country after finishing the game, but that expo dump sortof violently switched gears without syncromesh or clutch…

Okay, actually lost a bit of game play (siege of Talmberg) thanks to Hans Crap-on being to dumb to ride a horse in “Oath is an oath”…

It’s a bit like lord of the rings, with multiple endings where you think that’s it but then 'just one more thing, and…"

I like it though. I like that there’s lots of loose ends and business left undone while other business from nowhere puts you going down whole different path. Real life is like that, and that’s the message Radzig leaves us with. It’s refreshing.

I like the ending itself. either DadRad or FatherDream work for me. just the direct follow up with the expo dump was a bit of a downer…on the other hand, I suppose its not times so not really neccessary to do it right after finishing the game…

Mmmm dunno if it can realy be called an ending…more like a to be continued

Well, the game is planed as a multi part experience from the get go. People don’t complain about "fellowship of the ring"s ending, do they ?
Even as an ultimate ending it’d work fine. as it works on the premise of being ‘realistic’, or rather, ‘plausible’.

not all things get resolved in a neat end in real life, and sometimes things one thought important, really arent.

The sword really is just a lump of metal, a Thing. Henries Life in skalitz and his parents got killed, but he moved on. he is no longer the idling son of a blacksmith, but a competent men-at-arms and respected member of society, he found a new father, a new home and family.

Some things may (or rather most likely WILL, in a game) get resolved later, but maybe not. And that is, in the grand scheme of hings, fine.
