first of all, I am sorry this concerns you as it seems you are really passionate about the game and having this feature would make the experience more enjoyable for you and several others overall.
However as you mention, it is not likely this far into the game development. There are several issues linked to 3rd person view, such as animation and mostly camera issues. The main reason for the 1st person view is simply because it’s how designers envision the game.
Once again sorry and I hope that you will be able to enjoy the game regardless

Could it be modded into the game later by fans? It might solve the issue for these guys, if its technically possible

It will break immersion. Why?
Its just fact (proven by experience of game industry) that 1st person camera will provide better immersion for lot of people. And yes lot of people dont care about this and want 3rd camera.
When you are game developer its similar to movie you are preparing some experience for people, and you have your ideas how you want for them to experience it. With games you have little bit of blank space for it. Based on gender and opinion of developers they are giving more or less freedom.
These people are developing a game, story and experience with some idea what they want for a player to feel and experience. If you will make a 3rd camera possible lot of people will switch and it will change their experience, in a way they can’t control, in a way it could be in a conflict with rest of game and their idea about game as whole.
Maybe with it your personal experience would be better, maybe it would be better for many people have this possibility who knows. But what we know is that they made a decision that they want to represent game in some specific way. At the end its more or less an Art.
I agree. At the end its about artistic expression and who are we to tell these guys how their game would be better one way or another. Definitely. For me actually, I will be playing this lovingly made game as it’s insanely beautiful, has the features (generally) I have always wanted, and has a great development team. My issue comes down to accessibility. Freedom of choice. I posted that after showing my friend the new updates to alpha. Watching him get excited and immediately cringe thinking about playing it in first person for more than 5 mins as he will literally get motion sickness. I know that is not a concern really as how many ppl get this. (this actually has happened to me but only in the game turok back in the day). I feel for him a bit as he was all like, well I’ll just keep playing skyrim. Haha. I dunno. I do agree with you Kamtar. Its art and it should be experienced the way it was conceived. I will however, always appreciate games that give all users the option in terms of camera control. This takes NOTHING away from this amazing amazing game. Maybe I should have done less caps on the words I chose in my first post. I wasn’t wanting to be all yell-ey about it, but I wanted to just air out my feelings on it.

Third person definitely needs to be in the game, also what’s up with no POC? Is Warhorse funded by the KKK or something? Also why the lack of weapon diversity, no Katanas?
This game needs these things otherwise it will flop, also why not just make Henry trans gendered? One day you could play as a female, and the other day a male that would solve the female character issue.

Why is diversity a joke to you? It’s sad to see so many bigoted people, i had thought we were moving forward.
As for the Katana, why is that funny? They are beautiful effective weapons superior to the longsword i might add, they would make a great addition to KC:D. I would prefer playing as a noble Samurai, instead of a clumsy knight bogged down with hundreds of pounds of plate armor.

And? Do you have any proof that there weren’t trans gendered people living at the time? People who identified as one sex every other day? How about Katanas? I suppose they were only in Japan?
I wouldn’t mind a trans gendered Lara Croft, that way both sexes got represented equally. You sound like a bigot, and a bit of a sexist. Whats next you’re going to shout down my idea about POC being in the game?
i agree , i have always been a big fan of the katana . , so much better and more versatile to a longsword
it would be a great edition to the game .

We also need some transracial people in the game, they are very under-represented in the gaming industry and it’s absolutely unexcusable.

Thank you, that is a heartwarming/ heart breaking video. Despite being born white, ive always felt different than everyone else, deep down i feel i am really Japanese, hence my love for the Katana. I also have always felt the urge to make surprise attacks on American warships, and fly my plane right into them.
When ever i see an Aircraft carrier on TV i get a strong urge, but i hold it back for the fear of being called a freak.

Yea because katanas and transracial is the same as third person. Was there theme music in the 1400s? NOPE. Thought not. Im sure you hardcore simulation dudes will turn it off in the options…Which was my point to begin with. You can just turn it off…
When did we say that? I was just addressing other issues this game has, like the lack of diversity be it weapons, sexual diversity, or racial diversity.
I agree with you on third person some what.
I don’t care about racial diversity in a game set in the 1400s. If it fits the world, it fits the world. I am simply talking about game mechanics. My concern was for people who get motion sickness in first person. I doesn’t really matter. The game isn’t changing and that is just fine.
So you’re okay with oppression, and people not being properly represented? How is third person realistic, when real life is in first person.

He could be, on the other hand, shemale. That is entirely realistic. There are cultures where shemales are common and celebrated.
I entirely agree! And there is that one very famos Czech transracial person in the US nnow, so the issue is well known. That would surely help the sales!!!
