The biggest pros and cons

I was wondering about this for a very long time. Let us talk about the biggest pros and cons of Kingdom Come: Deliverance that we know of until now. What it would miss as good compliment to its gameplay or things that are going to drop ratings of it down, not only due to imbalance and lack of polishing and optimizing but as an idea in general.

To start off, we have got story trailers, do you think it is cliché that your main character wants to avenge his family’s death? Is it going to be fun to play when you can not really “change history” in game and thus you follow the real events? For example you can not kill some important lords.

Next up, combat system, was inspired by HEMA, instead of classic you do damage if you use effective weapon or even simply hit enemy, there is stamina supplementing health bar while if you are in good stamina condition, you do not lose health, but whence you lose it, you lose health. Do you think this will lead to fun or more frustration? Do you even like combat as such without taking into account new stamina function? You will be able to learn combos and mostly attack on locked target and thus fighting against more opponents will be hard as you will have to change your target.

Amount of content, so far developers guess the main story line should take players about 50 hours and together with side-quests even 100 hours. Do you think it is sufficient compared to 50€ price tag? We did not see the full picture, we do not how densely will be map populated by people and animals in various environments and interesting locations, last time I got info it was about 1600-1800 NPCs in total, people and animals combined, which could increase by the time it was last said (last update May 2017).

Graphics, this is commonly rated positive, until we rate environment alone. Some people look unnatural compared to their surrounding graphics, taking apart them talking. Do you think it may destroy immersion? Is 1st person view necessary to achieve the best experience in this game? Does it make you sick? I personally had motion sickness in Half Life and Portal. Would you welcome 3rd person as optional or introduced or modified later?

Skills, crafting and games. Skills are often referred to Skyrim system, you increase it only if you are using it. Do you think they will be misused like in Skyrim, where you could easily increase some skills in just few minutes to very high level giving you huge advantage, some of them were improved while you were not actually using them in a way they are supposed to (offensive magic outside combat). Crafting gives you choice to create some buffs and de-buffs while blacksmithing was cancelled, this skill is often missed as one of the most important as you are son of a blacksmith and your game starts right next to the smithy. Do you think there are any more crafting abilities which are necessary for better immersion? Mini-games and tournament competitions will give you chance to play a game inside a game. This was not yet revealed as much. Do you expect it to be fun, complementing to story? Would you rather skip them if they were part of main story line (which can be resolved in various ways)?

Do you miss option to conquer on your own, having a sandbox where you could challenge anyone on the map, attack farmers and soldiers, castles, fight lords and kings? Do you miss having a companion and option to command NPC? Do you miss option to build up your own home? Customizing character himself? Do you miss more gore, chopping off the limbs, heads and finishing moves? Would you like any non-story and combat related actions & animations included, for example playing an instrument, brushing the street, sawing, hammering, fishing, ploughing fields and such?

I’m gonna answer the second paragraph as I read the rest. It’s not up to the character to “change history” you don’t play as a character with the power to change everything. In other words, it’s not up to you. You just take a part of history, doesn’t matter if it’s a 100% accurate or not. Somethings didn’t make it to the final game. But might be added after release.

An interesting 50 hours is preferable to a dull 100 hours, please.

The combat is very unique and complicated. It will certainly be a challenge to master as I play the game. Enemies will be challenging and hard to beat, which might be frustrating for some. This is how to it should be. It’s not entertaining when you can defeat your enemies in two to three hits. Or have numbers flashing your screen as you hit them and a health bar above their heads.

I won’t miss having a companion, like in skyrim which is what most compare this game to :expressionless:. They get stuck on doorways and serve more of a distraction rather than someone who can take care of themselves. Whether this game would’ve done it differently or not, I don’t know. You’re in the middle of war, I don’t understand why you would need a home, let alone build one. You can attack anyone in this game. These are answers for the last questions, I don’t feel like quoting them.

“You can attack anyone in this game.” Almost. Not the lords you can see in trailer.

I’m willing to test that lol

How do you know this? You’re already able to attack people vital to the story in the Beta, like Robard.

No because this was never ever marketed as this type of game. It’s always been a story driven single player Historical RPG, and one of the main selling points from day one is “you won’t change history, or have a major impact on the events”. All of the other things you listed don’t make any sense for this game either. No to mention this game takes place over the course of one season, Summer, so the time frame is likely only 2-3 months, which leaves no time for building houses, farming fields, building castles, or disposing of kings to take their place, especially in a realistic game where you play as the son of a blacksmith.

I don’t know why i bother even explaining this to people anymore, ive been doing it for over two years now and it’s tiring.

I need to correct myself, not attack, but kill anyone. It was said many times. This is not topic about explaining, but your impression that the early game gave you. I do not see why it would not be possible, it is in summer, as you wrote, what all things I listed do not make sense to you? Give me one example

Find me an example.

Literally everything i listed is impossible to do in 2-3 months, farming is a year long process, building a freaking castle would take years, and a house would take months to years, and the games time frame takes place in 2-3 months . And that’s if you suspend your disbelief that an apprentice blacksmith ( at best) is able to learn to do all those things by osmosis.

And if i have to explain to why a peasant toppling a kingdom and becoming king in 2-3 months (implying it’s even possible at all) is impossible, then we really shouldn’t continue with this conversation

First off, you have problem understanding written text. If you speak Czech, we can change into more understandable way.
I did not say that when you plough, there should grow something in a realistic time, I did not mention building a castle…but I though of castle sieging and defending, fighting whenever you want aside from main quest. Customizing of your own home could work as DLC, but it does not generally mean building it from base to roof but in general idea, to make some place your own, add some trophies there, campfire and such. I think it was not mentioned how Henry is good at smithing stuff, so maybe it is only impression because he is young that he must be apprentice and not able to craft even the simplest sword.
And again, becoming a king? I was only writing fighting them not be one and have your kids and family… Seriously, just try to ask more questions if you do not undestand something because I think you are really bothered by explaining something nobody asked you question at the first place.

When I find a video with Tobi or someone saying some main characters are invincible, I will put a link. If you do not believe, then find it yourself, I already saw hours of KCD interviews and streams, You probably did not when you asked me about this or again, your problem with understanding English.

For the DLC. “You can definitely expect to see DLC and post launch support.” Rick Lagnese.
For the NPCs. “We are trying to make almost anybody killable, so if you want to go on a killing spree, we are trying to make the game still playable. You can’t destroy the main quest, but you can do anything to the side quests, and we’re even trying to make the side quests prepared for it.” Prokop Jirsa
More: “So we have made decision, that some key characters will be immortal and cannot even be attacked.” Daniel Vávra

English is my mother tongue. Nice try trying to deflect though.

I think we should be talking more about your lack of a proper sense of time.

Sounds like you can’t write in english very well, better work on that. This sentence is horribly written.

You don’t have any sense of realism or time it seems. Ploughing would be done before the crops were grown, so probably around spring time, which again is not the season this game will take place in.

So you want this game to throw out the main selling point which is historical accuracy and realism?

All of which is totally possible in a 3 month time table. :unamused:

You basically requested this game to turn into mount and blade 2.0. You said you would like the option to “conquer” and “fight lords and kings”, which is something only a noble man would be doing, which is why i thought you were implying you thought the option to become a king would be good.

If you actually did that, you would have realized the main selling point of this game his historical accuracy and realism, and would have understood that virtually everything you listed would not be realistic for Henry to do in game.

If English is your mother tongue, then it is worse with you than I thought. I know about this game’s main features.

Apart from suggestions or examples I put in, that are obviously inspired by Mount & Blade, I thought more of Gothic series were you could take some item. It means that you do not actually have to create something or finish something. For some tools like brush or hammer may be probably only sold, otherwise they can be useful for some simple action, creating a picture that something is happening. More specifically, it was a bit different when you could take the guitar out of your inventory and play on it. It also means more animations, though not combinations, and I actually do not know how much extra time would be needed for only “cosmetic” additions that would not actually do anything.

Other examples were more like general ideas, not that I want them in the game because I know what is going on. I was curious about what impression game did and what could compliment it.

No bud, i can read english just fine. You just put up retarded ideas that would not work with this game at all, so you tried to deflect. You can barely string a coherent sentence together so you shouldn’t be judging anyones language skills.

You don’t have an argument, so i think we’re done here.
