Hah, I appreciate that.
I can’t help it - I’m an avid scholar of medieval history and take my re-enactment very serious when it comes to historical accuracy. When I’m on an event, I want to be able to truthfully tell the “tourists” that the way I stand before them was exactly how they used to run around back then. Thankfully, my century is very well documented, makes it much easier.
And while I do that, I’m extremely into full-contact combat in medieval arms & armour, as well as learning the Fechtbuchs.
All that, and a general, very deep fascination and passion for the medieval history made me who I am, and resulted in endless weeks of research, and first-hand experience in most types of armour and weapons.
I spent a whole night researching on makers marks used in Solingen around 1485 only recently…
