I was expecting this game to run offline because its getting released on GOG. When I try to run the game in Steam offline mode, it doesn
t start. Is this done on purpose?
Curious to see the answer since there’s no internet connexion requirement listed in the store steam page.
Misleading consumers can’t be seen well by Valve/Steam.
Agreed. Requested a refund.
Totally agree, this is total BS. Locking us backers into DRM Steam crap and not allowing us to get GOG.com licenses it one thing, but no way in heck I am ever going to keep steam running in online mode. Just having it on my computer is a huge enough security risk.
Please add offline mode, this is simply silly.
I run this game on a gaming laptop since i travel a lot, and most of the time without any network connection.
Out of 1000 games in my steam library this is the ONLY one which requires steam to be mandatory online.
Are we just this few people wanting an offline mode?
I know it is release week, but i’m bumping this post so we can have a reply
I hope someone from the team can answer.
Oh i didn’t realise it would only run when steam is online.
That’s no good.
One of the attractions of single-player games is the ability to be able to play them at anytime regardless of internet connection.
Yeah… Too few peoples seems to care. I found only one website talking about it : https://www.techpowerup.com/241542/kingdom-come-deliverance-ships-with-always-on-drm-for-sp
So, Steam refused to refund me the game again. I tried to explain the situation (requirement was not mention in the store) but they don’t seems to care since i played for more than two hours.
Shame. I would gladly buy it on GOG instead, since there’s no communication/guarantee from the devs that it’ll be fixed one day, but i don’t know about buying the game two times.
Offline Mode should now be Available:
How is having steam online a security risk?
If it was a risk to security, then, how will having the program offline change that?
Fantastic news, thanks Janfo.
Thanks Warhorse, now i can play this weekend, being out of town (and network)
